Merry New Year! Good to see you're still spending quality time with your tunes. Life after eMusic hasn't sucked as much as I thought...I just find better ways to spend my cash on music. I'm more surprised that they're still around after seeing how much the Subscribers complain on the Message Board (small surprise, eh?). Happy listening...

Hey! No, I've still never been able to track down that Dirt Clods track. Frustrating!

Finally got that Diego Garcia you recommended. Good stuff! Not quite sure how to describe him though. I hear some 60s pop, some Latin guitar work, and some almost Sufjanesque swells. Thanks!

I'll be interested to know what you think. Deacon can be pretty manic; "Snookered" is my favorite track of his.

Hey Katrina! Thanks for the rec. I'll definitely check it out. As for the "super" compatibility, not sure how common/rare it is, but I do have it with thom as well.

Hey, I've been searching for an mp3 of The Dirt Clods: "Can't Stop Losing Myself" for years now and have finally resorted to last.fm stalking to try to find it. I was wondering if there was any way that you might be willing to share. Thanks!

I was taking advantage of a deal on Amazon and purchased an MP3 player for the little Woman. As I was browsing I noticed there were some U2 flavored players. I seem to recall your last one was absconded by some unremorseful slaggard. Have you ever considered repurchasing another one? I'm guessing that you would not be so lucky to get the player with the original tunes included, but the style/color thingy seems worthy of a chase...I dunno. I just laughed with a friend of mine. We both have a similar player - he has approx. 4300 tunes and I have approx. 17000. As we laughed about the the obvious yawning chasm between us, I realized with ONLY 4300 tunes I would likely still be intrigued by my collection. ...I must have an issue with "collectivity," yes? Perhaps I should seek help or at the very least a larger MP3 player.

hey - how's life without eMusic? After contemplating whether or not I should drop one of my accounts, I discovered my son could parlay it to his advantage and get some D/L's for his music collection. He's a bit of a head-banger and there's a lot of artists he will enjoy in eMu-land. I'm still hangin' on because I'm still finding loads of music to listen to. I've adjusted to the pricing fiasco and discovered the only thing that irks me is when a release has a track that's "ALBUM ONLY"...how stupid is that? I realize most of us prefer full D/L's anyway, but in the event a single track is all I want I should be able to cherry-pick, too, right? Oh well, hope you're doing well...keep rockin'!

I know - I was completely shocked even though it said "no catch!" I backed out and made sure it was for real before accepting! When did you quit eMusic and why?

i did sign up for musicgourmets but have yet to give it a look beyond the sign up. i'm not sure where i'm going to land at this point...by the by, if you trip across rastamon, tell him i saw the waco bros. this weekend + enjoyed the performance - they'll play his area. more importantly, i'll keep you posted on the boys...garrett (10) is about as close to sainthood as can be fabricated. this past father's day i decided i was going to curtail being as stern with him...he just doesn't respond to negative (to his credit). wouldn't you know it, within hours of adopting this approach he's laying on top of me and just chatting away + tossing in a bunch of "y'er the best dad" as he goes. and, following up to that, we went to taste of chicago...long walk from the train station to the park...he asked if i could carry him on my shoulders...course i did + every two minutes "thx dad, i really needed the rest." a great kid youngest - holden - is a trip: mom's smarts + dad's wildness.

I mean your avatar here at last.fm: Generalissimo Kitty Xatrina. The new format does take some getting used to, but I'm liking it. I wish I could figure out how to batch tag tracks, though.
