Well like thirty-two months later here you go.... The lyrics to Slippery When Wet by The Acorn (which you already know by heart now)! (: Panda panda climb your tree there's a life you live in spite of me and for all the fruit that bore your seed there's a wet worm waiting by your feet by your feet, by your feet there's another apple you don't need and oh, I cursed the weight of me the heavy purse drug by your feet and the dead-straight line that pulled you in got tangled in our spiral spin in our spin, in our spin the tangle that I left you in and oh, the love I thought we had a tire-tread that slips when wet and I convinced myself of my belief that behind each branch a fallen leaf fallen leaves, fallen leaves I count the colours at my feet.

I cannot get enough of them! I just saw them in concert for the second time (technically the third cos I saw them open for the Shins three years ago, hehe) and they BLEW ME AWAY. I dunno, I get obsessive like this frequently. I haven't been listening to any new music, really, just soaking in classics like Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Sondre Lerche, the Lucksmiths...But anyway, idk how I got talking about that. Delta Spirit. Their first EP has some of my favorite songs by them on it. It's available FO' FREE here: http://blog.deltaspirit.net/post/13214484917/free-download-i-think-ive-found-it-ep Then, their first album, Ode to Sunshine is absolute gold. I'd recommend starting with Ode to Sunshine and that EP too. Do you have Dropbox? Oops, I ramble, I ramble. hope all is well.

ok one more and I am done spamming your site! This band Santah is fairly new. They did a set at CMJ and played SXSW this year, too. If you go to their site (http://santahmusic.com/) you can stream their album, but it the album is before Vivian (the other lead singer) joined, and she makes the band, if you ask me. Right now it's a brother/sister duo leading, and they harmonize really well. I'd start with the Big Ugly Yellow Couch sessions here: http://www.biguglyyellowcouch.com/post/2010/11/1/couch-session-santah.html) *warning- the song Neighbors and Cousins has a "spoken word" section in it that is kind of embarrassing; all the rest is good, though!

Ah that was so fast! Thank you so much! The Mynabirds are a recent(ish) sign to Saddle Creek. I'm especially impressed with the title track, "What We Gained In The Fire," but it's all good. I think Casey Dienel (Hush Records) is fun--not super polished, but fun. My friend recently introduced me to Elizabeth & the Catapult. Apparently Mike Mogis helped with production? They've got a Daytrotter session, if you want to check them out. Then, oldies but goodies: I've been on major Nina Simone/Karen Dalton/Vashti Bunyan kicks :)
