Mos Def- The Ecstatic
I love this whole album, it is the type of album that is best to be played all the way through. The track Auditorium featuring Slick Rick is my favourite song and beat of the year.
Brother Ali- US
I think Brother Ali is one of the greatest emcee's of our time, he always brings the most original music that makes me think that this is what hip-hop is about. His storytelling on this album is incredible. He is definitely underrated.
This album blew me away, i never thought i would hear that raw classic Wu sound ever again. This album is an instant classic for sure, i might even like it more then the first Cuban Linx.
Classified- Self Explanatory
Classified is from Nova Scotia which is were my family is from. It is a funny place for some real quality hip-hop to come from but Classified shows that it is. I like the concept of the album, his beats are dope and there are great features from Canadian emcee's and Royce da '59.
Felt (Slug & Murs) - FELT 3: A Tribute To Rosie Perez
Slug+Murs+Aesop Rock! What more can i ask for? Aesop Definitely brought a different sound from the first two Felt projects which pushed Slug and Murs to really bring their "A game". I can die happy now.
Cunninlynguists- Strange Journey: Volume Two
CunninLynquists keep my faith in southern hip-hop alive! This is another quality album by them. Kno is one of my favourite producers doing it right now.
Sha Stimuli - My Soul To Keep
I am really feeling this album. Great flow, great production, great theme. GREAT ALBUM!
Finale- A Pipe Dream and A Promise
When i first heard this album it was the most excited i had been in a little while about a new artist. I listened to it almost constantly for weeks. Detroit keeps making great hip-hop.
Fashawn- Boy Meets World
Great debut album, it is another one that i enjoy listening to all the way through.
Exile made some classic beats for the album and it was dope to here Blu featured on them!
KRS-One & Buckshot- Survival Skills
I wasn't sure if KRS-One was ever gonna drop another album that i would love but he did. Of course it helps to have some of the best beat makers and emcees featured on the album.
