I arrived just in time to catch A Place To Bury Strangers arrive on stage. I was surprised to see it was an outdoor show on a mobile stage. Because of that, I am guessing that is why It was not as loud a show as usual. Honestly, it was more defined since sound wasn't going all over the freaking place. The whole thing seemed pretty low key. Even some of the locals (and I mean locals) got into it.

Sell-out; so I didn't truly give the band a proper listen because I've been burned so much over-hyped artists on distinguished music websites, let alone mainstream praise. Thu 30 Apr – The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, afternoon naps

Mini-review

-Showed up late.

-Missed most of Band fag aftermath er…afternoon naps.

-Didn't expect much after that.

-Boy was I wrong.

-ZAZA came on and stole the show. 30 minutes of pure noir coolness.

-After that…I we lost interest. My girl and l dashed off cause there was no way Pains at being pure at heart was going to top that.

So we left. and got beer somewhere else that has..um good Beir.

So I just found out that HUM is playing the Double Door in Chicago, and it is sold out. I am sick to my stomach that I had no idea that HUM would just drop out of LaLa land, and say, hey…lets play Chicago on New Years Eve at the greatest Club in Chicago.

Wed 13 Aug – A Place to Bury Strangers

The five block walk from Skully's Music Diner to my friends car was rough. Intoxicated, exhausted, sweaty, and briefly deaf, it could only be attributed to seeing yet another A Place To Bury Strangers live set. Seeing as the band was passing up playing Cleveland, for all the other cities in Ohio, I took the opportunity to travel with a best friend, two hours to Columbus, Ohio.

As always the band is cordial. So much so in fact, that I had missed all three opening bands because I was two busy…

Before Moonspeed, Pteranodon, and Bright Channel; Or even Flight Approved Records for that matter, there was a band called Volplane.
