Every show I go to is about that far. It's the closest place I have. I've never had an issue before, but I'll definitely be ordering my tickets online from now on.

I drove the usual 300 miles to see Skeletonwitch/Nile/Hour of Penance today, only to find out it was sold out when I got there. It was depressing.

I sort of wish I would have bought a shirt instead of Dystopia at the show. I can't get into it very well. The title track and Dark City are good songs though.

I feel dumber than fuck for not getting into Iced Earth sooner. I mean, I've known about them since like 2004.

Stu Block called me out for not singing along with the "woooo-ooooooo's". Apparently headbanging is not enough.

It rules when there are good shows near my birthday. I'm seeing Overkill 10 days after my 21st this year.

I'm seeing Iced Earth with Symphony X and Warbringer tomorrow. It's worth a 300 mile drive, right?

Hey no biggie, just curious. Their sound is much more in sync with traditional prog rock groups (Yes, Genesis) than anything else, and most of their songs run for 10+ minutes anyway. They were a little difficult for me to digest at first.

So I see you've seen Haken live, presumably at their PowerProg appearance a little bit ago. How'd you like 'em?

Oh yeah, a ridiculous Amorphis fan. What are Iced Earth's best albums? I don't know them as well as I should. I'm also a much bigger Blind Guardian fan than my charts would let on, what's your favourite of theirs? I think Imaginations is pretty unbeatable.

Oh yeah, Rotting Christ is, oddly enough, a very apt band to use to word "fun" as a description for their performance. Saw them in Cleveland a while back and they were a blast. Lot of new stuff though, but you take what you can get and even the songs I didn't particularly care for were good live.
