Yeah, I love VU. Now I prefer smooth stuff like "Loaded", "The Velvet Underground". 1-2 years ago I often listened to "White Light/White Heat" (most significant VU album in my opinion) and of course "The Velvet Underground & Nico", but to be honest, I hate Nico's vocals. Quine Tapes? Nah, never heard about it. Rare versions of their main songs?

Thanks. "Yes - 4 788" Huh, big fan here. I like Yes too, but my fav is "The Yes Album" and "Close to the Edge", never understood "Fragile". Anyway, strong album too. Wait a minute, I don't see Van der Graaf Generator even in the top 50, have any reasons? Great prog

Never heard of Herbie Hancock to be honest. Bu if it comes to funk music as a whole, then yes, I like some of Funkadelic stuff. Any other bands to recommend?

New music, maybe touring again. But as you said, who knows right? I've recently come back to prog rock, all Genesis and Rush stuff... I truly missed it, it's nice to rediscover music you used to worship few years ago. As you can see my library consists mostly of a 90's Seattle scene so I was far away from progressive bands at this point. By any chance, have you ever listened to bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden etc. or those are just not your thing?

Hi there! Looking at your profile, I assume you must be well informed (at least better than me) in news concerning Genesis reunion. Are those rumors true? I read about it somewhere though I'm still not quite sure what to think about it. Or is it just about the compilation they are going to release soon? I have to admit I got a little bit excited when I saw the word 'reunion' but it's not always that clear and obvious of course. By the way, very nice blog on tumblr - made me feel like listening to Yes again!

I'm like, 90% sure my eyes are actually bleeding. And there are few times when I can listen to a single song for more than a couple times in a row tbh. I can listen to a couple songs a lot, but one song? Nah. And yeah I always see people listening to their live stuff more so than studio stuff. I might check it out, if I feel like it. I don't like to force things on myself, especially music. And um, I don't know. Pick the one that... ..... . .. . . . I don't know. Haha, sorry. I wish I had a system for choosing stuff. And okay, same here. though I'll probably get 8 hours if I'm lucky. I hate sleeping in too late. good night!

Yeah I'm just about to go to bed myself. I was up watching a movie and I'm exhausted. I go through phases of listening to a certain genre/band and then sometimes I listen to a little bit of everything. It depends. And there's no rush to listen to Tool haha. Do it whenever. I know I have a hard time listening to something I was recommended right away. And tapestry is so cool. Like I have an Opeth one and a Zeppelin one and they look so awesome on my wall. I'm not a huge fan of the Dead, I just haven't taken the time to get into them, but yeah if there is a tapestry with the dancing bears, that'd look sweet.

hahaha, I know. I was referring more so to other people... who are weird because they don't like prog rock. just kidding, haha. I'd like to think of myself as open minded as well. Whether or not by definition that's true though, is another story. To be honest, I don't feel like I listen to that many different artists/genres. I feel like I listen to some different stuff but nothing compared to some people I've seen on here. And good idea, Lateralus is an awesome listen. Hopefully you'll like them. What kind of tapestry are you thinkin' of getting?

to be honest, I still haven't really listened to their first album that much. not enough to really have an opinion of it, at least. so yeah, it's impossible to go wrong with them. unless you absolutely hate prog rock/death metal or something. As far as Tool goes, literally any album will do. They're all really good. I really like Undertow and Lateralus though. but then the other two are just as good. I'd suggest Undertow though if you haven't listened to them before. It's actually not a bad idea to listen to the albums in order of release either if you like that first album. Just sayin' haha. And yeah, get a tapestry then!

Jeez.... I don't know. You said you listened to BWP and Watershed and those are what I would've recommended hah. My Arms, Your Hearse is probably my personal favourite but Damnation or Ghost Reveries is probably what I'd suggest for you. Damnation is not heavy really at all and you'd probably really like it, I know I do. Ghost Reveries on the other hand is similar but with more death metal added in. I'm just thinking about it and damn, their albums all really stand out to me. It's hard to recommend anything because I find them all to be pretty damn awesome. And same. I bought 10,000 Days by Tool awhile back on CD and I was/still am bummed out about it. I got a good deal I think but ugh... I hate spending even like $15 on one thing. It bothers me.

Blackwater Park is the first I heard by them and of course instantly I was blown away. They're definitely one of my favourite bands. But their older stuff isn't for everyone I suppose. And yeah, I know! I'm so cheap with my own money tbh. If I can get something for a lower price, I'll spend forever trying to haha

Hopeless romantic, prog fanatic.

Also, I scrobble my records, so if you see a bunch of scrobbles within a short period of time, don't be scared or something
