It's a little late in the week, but I just got a new job and I've been spending most of my free time sleeping. Anyhow, it's time for another horribly uninspired journal entry!

1. Firehouse - Haven't really listened to any Firehouse in a while, which is a damn shame because I love them. Got their entire discography last week though, so there's been a lot of this going on lately. Mmmm, delicious hair metal.

2. Hawksley Workman - Hawksley returns in his number two spot this week. I didn't think that I listened to him that much this week…

I'm starting to wonder just how relevant this recommendation feature really is. I was searching through my recommended reading, and almost all of the "most relevant" were related to my chemical romance. There are many bands above MCR on my overall list… Not that I don't like them, but too often they make for boring journals. And overexposure is bad. (Mostly I'm tired of dumb kids posting about how much they love the band)

And yes, I realize the hypocrisy of criticizing too many MCR-related journals while adding one myself (hence why I didn't link it), so let's add some…

I thought that since it's been like two weeks since I've written a journal entry that today I'd take some time out to talk a little bit about my weekly top artists.

1. Private Line - You know it's funny, I've had a Private Line sitting on my hard drive for possibly years now, and I'd never listened to it once because it was incorrectly named. Now I've finally listened to it (by accident no less) and I can't get enough of them. Anyway, they're a pretty kickass Finnish rock group, obviously heavly influenced by Motley Crue.

So I've been listening to Crimson lately, and out of curiosity, I searched up some reviews. The general idea is that people don't like it as much as their previous efforts. But one review really boggled me.

It said that the CD sucked because they cleaned up their sound and tried to write more serious lyrics. The lyrics are moot to me, but wait just a minute. Why is it bad for a band to want to sound good? Why do punks find it so wrong for band to want to add a little polish to their music? I understand…

You know what, I just realized that I own 20 Queen CDs. That's a whole 14 CDs more than HIM, the band with the second-highest number of CDs in my collection. Fourteen. Yet they're currently at measly number 11 on my Top Artists chart. This equates to one thing, and one thing only. I need an Audioscrobbler Plugin for my boombox. I almost never listen to Queen while on the compy. Why? Who knows? For my favourite band, I don't listen to them enough, period.

It's funny, I've been listening to this CD all the time since I got it, and I still haven't gotten annoyed at it at all. I know I listened to Dark Light too much when I got it and kinda got sick of it, but not this one. I like every song on the CD, and while that's not totally uncommon, it's the only one that I've had every song get stuck in my head at some point.
