My dad turned me on to the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Sometimes I think he feels in competition with me to find good new music. I'll check out T by T. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Phil, just a quick shout to say that everything that comes up on my friends radio with your name on it is awesome! So thanks for unwittingly introducing me to some great new tunes :)

Matthews must be pretty old by now. I liked the fact that his voice wasn't that strong but somehow was memorable.

Man I love that Plainsong Amelia Earhart CD. My dad was a huge Iain Matthews fan and I heard all of his music (from Fairport to Southern Comfort to Plainsong and all his solo work) when I was growing up. I wonder if he's still around.

I'm recovering from shoulder surgery and, for some reason, I started playing a lot of Morrissey. Either he soothed my pain or just sounded better because I was on pain medication.

He's alright, isn't he? I haven't played him that much... he seems a little too subdued to be essential.

Hey Phil... Juliet is wonderful and 'Vampire' is just spine-tingling...

Thanks a lot (not that I believe I'm particularly discerning - its just that most music gets more obscure with age). I will listen to this playlist of yours :)

BTW, I haven't seen a lot of live music in the last few years because my business days & hours are when concerts are happening. However, I see B. Raitt is one of your favorites. I saw her in the college cafeteria with just Freebo. [oh no, it can't be 40 years!!!!]

Nice to meet you also. It's so great to find other people with similar tastes! I've found several new artists looking at my neighbor's charts. I've also realized that I have some of the music, but have not really delved into it. Case in point: Teddy Thompson. Great stuff!

Designer/Lecturer... singer/guitarist... bass player back in the day, played in rock bands, reggae bands, a shit hot country rock band, even a folk band!!! Like all sorts of music obviously... apart from rap I've tried (as Dylan Moran said "i've been home with the downies..." but at the end of the day "horseshit".... apart from M&M mmm... rap with post-modern irony! Call me old-fashioned but I do like a good tune

Just added Spotify which is great so adding a whole new bunch of music to my profile!!/misterphil1
