Haha, you realize of course that you're talking to a walking definition of the word 'fiasco', right :D (no, not fascio, in Greece we're all unconditionally democrats now, lol)

The thing is that all this is sensationalist garbage, the media is parading all these...collectable items that have nothing to do with criminal charges just to create outrage (anyone who would buy the 'Golden Dawn' magazine even 6 years ago would know what these guys worshipped.) It's getting so absurd that if you read the charges against them you'll think they're worse than Al Quaida. Among other things they're accused of conspiring and plotting to cause 'railroad accidents, floods, forest fires' and who knows what else, i just stopped reading (i'm not making this up).

You have to admit though that this guy http://www.amna.gr/photos/201309/30-11383613175657.jpg had a refined taste in wine: http://static.in.gr/webstatic//8B9BE29438DA5F17DFBB7B0A331CB00A.jpg

They did have some impunity from the Police etc as long as they were against immigrants, leftists etc. I believe that lately they started to resemble an actual fascist movement and become a real political danger for the right-wing gov. (not only their voters were growing, but there were intense pressures from Americans, Israelis etc towards the gov.). So all of a sudden we see the 'law & order' show, this time targetting the extreme Right, with parliament members (and their leader himself) getting dragged to jail and a non-stop media frenzy about the 'criminal organisation' and the 'nazi threat'.

They always had that brutal thuggery element about them, but i think they were getting more and more popular (especially in downtrodden areas - in a 'Hizbollah' kind of way), so the government decided to eliminate them following the murder of an antifascist hip-hopper a week ago. There's a ridiculous non-stop media onslaught for 10 days now as if Al Quaida is being dismantled, totally one-sided and hysterical, it's pretty weird.

Well this is getting surrealistic, a nazi political party getting elected to the parliament and after a year getting handcuffed to jail as a 'criminal organisation' :-/ (remember that corpsepaint guy? well here he is yesterday right before he got arrested, heh http://static.madata.gr/files/GERMENIS_703294098.jpg)

Wow, that's a really old review, i mean the author died in 2000. I don't know, i often find myself enjoying this kind of 'sarcastic' half-intellectual books, with an ironic narrator, often involved in Media or University environments etc. What can i say, i'm a product of my age lol. But i have read some..ehr, Joseph Roth for example, or more recently, Kurzio Malaparte's depressing 'Kaputt' :D

I'm currently re-reading the hilarious Doctor Criminale, a book oddly resonating with someone who attended a 'Mass Media & Culture' Uni dept, haha : http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/book-review--laughter-as-a-foreign-language-doctor-criminale--malcolm-bradbury-secker-1399-1551196.html

And by the way, congratulations on your new hair piece (don't think that i didn't notice from your photo! i can be very perceptive). It's really becoming and i hope it wasn't a heavy blow on the family budget...

Symphonic music concerts? man, that made me laugh a bit :D you've become such a square! as opposed to me who's sporting a messy long hair again at the age of 35 lolol (even if it's not 100% full, haha). Well Sacred Reich haven't released anything since the mid 90's - and even their second one was kind of bad already, but i'm still occasionally revisiting Ignorance and Surf Nicaragua (awwww the nostalgia! i had those on crappy recorded tapes along with Nuclear Assault and Testament as 'b' sides' as a young nerdy misfit in 1989 :D)

Lol, are we in 1988? I came across various concert posters yesterday in a 'musical' district of Athens, and there were live dates for : Sepultura ( with some Greek bands supporting, including...Flames from the 80's LOL), Exodus/Obituary/Heathen/Morgoth, Overkill and Sacred Reich :-//. I admit i'm kind of tempted about Sacred Reich :D It's only 26 euros, and this political thrash/crossover blend of theirs circa 1988 was an early love of mine :D

hahaha, i guess not, though that would be a great idea! But i guess a shaved head and black bomber jacket will be more formal for the occasion :D (the point is, this Golden Dawn has nothing to do with your typical european far-right party. until very recently this was just a gang of violent thugs publishing a christian-bashing, Hitler-worshipping magazine :-/ http://parallhlografos.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/x-a-nazi.jpg?w=500&h=350)
