Hi Paul, I wish you also a great weekend. This one is more relaxing for me after the past weekend. I was part of an Ironman in Roth and have finished my fourth marathon. But the weather conditions were horrible. 30° C and sticky and therefore it was very hard. But in a team it was important to stand it and I didn't care about the time. Our swimmer has had the best part. :-) Tomorrow I will only have normal training over 11 km. How are you? Greetings André

I did and I added "Sing a Little Song for Me" to my Spotify playlist. Great vocal harmonies! "Judas in Me Singing" isn't on Spotify, but I'm checking it out now.

Is it a pleasure, really? If I don't disturb you I can visit you every day. I should have known, guys like you don't drink coffee. ;-) Beer it is then! Wow, sounds nice with Spain. Enjoy, relax and may the sun be with you!

Thanks Paul! I am indeed having a fine weekend... the weather is starting to turn it's cheek! (here) getting sunnier and warmer everyday... spring is right around the corner! At-least in my neck of the woods! :))) Not to get too sentimental but Paul is my father's name... great name! that name is going out of fashion these days... but in a way that's what makes it somewhat unique. anyways hope your doing well... have a fine week! keep doing what you do best! jammin' out some quality tunes :)) Best Regards -Matthew

My first gig was the 30th November 1977, I was 14 years old!Uriah Heep at the Newcastle City Hall. My ears were ringing but I loved it! The City Hall is a great venue. I got so used to seeing music up close and personal there that stadium gigs are not for me.

Going to concerts (as they were known in those days) became a regular thing for me. Highlights back then included Bad Company, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Sad Cafe, Blue Oyster Cult, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Whitesnake, 10cc and Dire Straits. Lastly, and certainly not least, Thin Lizzy on their Live and Dangerous tour.

By the way, the night I saw Thin Lizzy (20th June 1978), I was treated to the best "support" band I have ever seen. Johnny Cougar, aka John Cougar Mellencamp. I bought A Biography the very next day, he's got to be one of the most under-rated singer/songwriters ever!

I've seen plenty of gigs since those early days, far too many to list here that's for sure. More recently, Joe Bonamassa and Aynsley Lister are playing my type of music, having said that, my tastes do vary widely as you can see.

I picked the bass guitar up when I was nearly 40. Five years later, I was playing on the very same City Hall stage. As a youngster, I was so fascinated with what backstage looked like that (finally) being there really was a dream of mine. Walking out to play was wonderful, I couldn't help thinking of ALL the greats that had stood exactly where I was standing, a real sobering thought I can tell you!

Hi, I'm Paul, bass player for The Honest Johns and you're looking at the music I listen to. Below is the music I Play. Both Sundance (2011) and Songwriters (2007) are streamed here and on Spotify. Feel free to have a listen but, please, don't let it spoil your day. I have the occasional sneaky listen myself just so I remember how to play it...OK, I quite like it!
