Hey!_) I think I am playing very unusual and original music.. but all musicians think in this way, I guess)) I need someone who tell me, "it's interesting" or "not interesting" =) without dirty words, "fuck off" or something that, JUST "interesting" or "not", ok?_) I want to hear honest opinion, from adult person, can you?)) Thanx for attention! ;) Click here to visit our Last.fm page!))

thanks! i looked for that a while back without success. predictably, it's great. aside from those stunt eps, which i'm not crazy about, everything he's done is excellent.

a new collection of very early machinefabriek recordings that i instantly loved and know you will, too, because it sounds like a mix of early hood and the boats: http://www.machinefabriek.nu/jongejaren/Machinefabriek-De_Jonge_Jaren.zip how have you been?

too bad. i think we would have had plenty to talk about. it might have been just as well that you missed it though. our set wasn't very good. the other two bands-tammar & apache dropout- were good/great (respectively) though. oh well. maybe next time i'm through bloomington. or you're through knoxville.

to be honest i worried a little about that. i was going through a serious period of depression when i was listening to a couple of loops a night. is the thought of your new semester making your mind disintegrate?

wow disintegration loops straight through. impressive. you chose the best ones to "love" as well. i can't decide if 3 or 5 is my favorite. i also highly recommend shortwavemusic and his newest one, 92982.

hey, still in bloomington? a band i'm in, new madrid (don't worry, not the "americana" band that turns up on last fm), is going to be up that way to play a show and do some recording next weekend. we're playing friday at magnetic south, which is i believe a houseshow/byob/pass the hat sort of affair. i'm really looking forward to it- bloomington is always a great time. if you're around, come on out. it should be a lot of fun and it would be nice to chat some. maybe we'll see you.....

Well, I think you should listen to some more Cheer-Accident, they're the closest anything has ever come/probably ever will come to being everything I like in one band. I especially recommend their album Enduring The American Dream...pssst http://www.me diafire.com/download.php?ynxzwrt52lz. If you're into lo-fi production, check out The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2 or Mount Eerie's new album if you want something less songy and more atmospheric- Phil Elverum's really great a certain type of production that's lo-fi and meticulously detailed at the same time, and the songs are great too. I could probably go crazy recommending stuff, but: for a great, yet little known progeny of John Fahey, check out Sean Smith, and for some insane, ugly 'noise rock' with a little more musical smartness/togetherness than usual, I recommend Trumans Water...here's their self-titled/eighth album http://www.me diafire.com/download.php?kzgwgdzjnfz, and I'm going to upload some more of their stuff soon.

Hey, really great taste. It's cool to see Pere Ubu, Sonic Youth, John Fahey, Gastr Del Sol, Circle, and VoIcano The Bear (to name a few) as well as the Rock In Opposition group all on the same page. I'm finally listening to more of Hood's early stuff and it's great. I kind of forgot how great they are, I hadn't listened to them in a while.

shame about your health - hope you're feeling better soon! i'm mainly going to be teaching academic writing courses, but i'll also be teaching a few reading and conversation courses. another japanese artist is also coming to seoul soon - asuna - but i have't been able to track down any of his stuff online yet. supposedly in september otomo yoshihide and the thing will be playing here together....but not sure of the details. i've seen otomo before doing minimalist turntaable stuff, but this should be crazy noisy free jazz if i know the thing. you know the thing, right, from that "two bands and a legend" record? any shows coming up for you? what's your semester going to look like?

finally got around to my august listening of ielasi's "august" - it was a good idea. i've just been super busy settling in again to life in seoul. now i'm spending a few weeks planning the classes i'm teaching in the fall. what's going on with you? bout time to start a new semester?

jack rose is great live. that nemeth record is nice huh? i've been rediscovering my love for talk talk's "laughing stock" lately. noticed you've "loved" every track on it!

hey man, sorry for the late response - yeah, i try to stay up to date on room40's catalogue. possibly the label of the year is 12k, though, which is run by the usually excellent himself taylor deupree. i'm obsessing right now over a william parker large ensemble album from 2007 i'd somehow missed called "double sunrise over neptune" - unlike anything i've ever heard and totally recommended if you haven't heard it yet. i'm now in the process of downloading tons more parker stuff. it's always exciting to stumble over some huge musician or band like this.
