How you doing mate. I'm trying Bloc Party nowadays but it ain't efficient. Some tunes are worth attention though: Obscene, Like Eating Glass, Ares. How long are you into them, are they popular in the UK? Seems like you enjoy Silent Alarm the most. Maybe that album might grow on me anyway.

Why don't you listen to Ghost Stories? I think you might enjoy it.

My favourite might be Sayit though! Well, the collab kinda fulfills the expectation so I have nothing to complain about. It doesn't feel completely Röyksopp or completely Robyn, it really is a work of it's own imo. I'm also anticipating the new album, all the news heard around about it is valid! Bless them.

I like her more when she sings about meth & go-go dancing. Slutcore for the win!

Depends how much you want to spend! I'd recommend either an entry level pro-ject deck (all of which sound far lovelier than their modest price tags suggest) or some second-hand separates from the interwebz. I've spent about £600 on the vinyl bits of my setup, but I was very happy when the whole thing cost about £100 a few years ago too. It's an enjoyable experience whatever level you start at (as long as you don't buy a modern stack system 'cause they sound horrible).

Alas, not that simple. CD audio tends to be very heavily compressed, robbing the recordings of dynamic range, and for purists it's not sampled at a high enough rate to be truly satisfactory. In short, CDs are lower quality than the recordings they're mastered from. Vinyl eliminates that by using a continuous waveform - no downsampling and no digital compression - so it's a lot more faithful to the master. Plus, on an entirely separate note, there's a lot of love out there for the way vinyl responds to different sounds and instruments - all a lot more subjective but still valid. The ceremony of playing a record, and the lovely packaging, are a draw for some people (me included). And finally, electronic doesn't mean digital - synthesisers can be analogue too, and vinyl is very popular with fans of electronic dance music because of its dynamics, bass reproduction, warmth (whatever that means), etc. And TEED has an analogue voice!

Ahh hey man. Cheers for your shout - I was actually complaining that 'You Need Me on My Own' isn't on the vinyl version of the album. In the end I caved and bought it anyway, even though it omits the two best songs. I see you've been enjoying it recently. It's a cracker for sure.

It absolutely is. Maybe not on a par with 'The Suburbs' and 'Funeral', but still amazing. Has some of the best Arcade Fire tracks on it, though (Reflektor, Afterlife, It's Never Over).

Well I do find The Understanding to be a real crossover between Melody AM and Senior, I guess I lean towards the other less minimal side a bit. But as long as they can keep the melodies from Running to the Sea and Something in My Heart, I'm happy no matter what.

Thanks for making me remember it. It's been ages since I've played it.

It reminds me of their Robyn collab None Of Dem. I'm impressed enough because this is only a b-side.

Thanks, you too! I think it's fantastic, my favourite album released this year. Sad to admit that I think my constant playing of it has made it lose some of its magic for me... for now. Still doesn't take away from the fact it's wonderfully written and brilliantly produced. Got some of the best songs of the year on it, too.

Well, to be honest, he's one of my favourite people from this place. That's probably why I asked his opinion about the new Lily Allen song. The other thing is that you always check the walls of the music that we dig the most :P
