  • New Playlist set for November 1

Okay. I'm slowly getting over regretful feelings for resetting my charts. While I try to uncover the original method of my madness, I have a "new" list of albums slated for listening pleasure this November. Artists include: Chelsea Wolfe, Crystal Stilts, Soap&Skin (newer), Nico, Marianne Faithfull, Cocteau Twins, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple, and maybe the Rolling Stones (older). I'm really excited to start seriously listening to Swans, the seminal no wave, post-punk industrial group who I've been yearning to listen to since forever now. I'm also dabbling a bit into Michael Gira's solo work and sans Swans side-projects. Managing my music taste is a full time job.
  • Boards of Canada would have fit in very nicely....

I am sitting here looking at my sparse play count and now I feel regret about resetting my library. All of the history of what I've listened to is gone, now I sit like a chimp in front of a blurring screen, transfixed by thoughts of upping my playcount. I should have just kept my listening data and scrobbled in newer music. Boards of Canada would have fit in very nicely with the rest of my stuff. I can't just revisit old tracks, because whatever phase I went through is done. And I very well knew that the action can't be reversed, so yeah. I feel stupid.

I have new found appreciation for "On the Streets I Ran" by Morrissey and for his Ringleader of the Tormentors album. Semi-autobiographical in subject matter and bombastic musically (which offends fans who preferred Morrissey's more "wilted wallflower" image, but which I quite like) the unimpeachable demi-god of misery croons: "Turned sickness into popular song." I like it.
