1st Track - Another Green World ~ Brian Eno
My very first last.fm track, nice and strangely catchy melody, perhaps the best track ever under two minutes (or are we forgeting Jerusalem 2000?)

500th Track - Sinking of the Titanic ~ Gavin Bryars
A beautiful track, samples of interviews with Titanic survivors are intertwined with an Orchestral bassline that has (annoyingly) wrecked my computer's speakers... stupid addicting Gavin Bryars!

1000th track - Cha Cha 2000 Live in Tokyo disc 2 ~ la! NEU? (greatest song ever)
"Like the real 2000 will be, many things go wrong and there are some big mistakes, but there are also some very beautiful parts" as the CD booklet says. Called "Angel under Fire" by long standing friend of the Dinger, Kerry Aberhardt, this song is anthemic, breathtaking and frighteningly beautiful. This song got me into Dinger properly and I have never regretted it. Dinger is THE most inventive man in music, the original non-conformist, Krautrock's answer to punk. N.B. (for Cain) this song is actually part 1 of the set, but the record label mis-printed it onto disc 2! The only thing Ken Matsurtani has ever done wrong...

1500th Track - Harlekin ~ Hans-Joachim Roedelius
A piano minature to end all piano minatures. From a beautiful and underrated album; Lustwandel, this is narrowly the best track. It flows seamlessly and shows Roedelius at his best, or at least his ambient/new-age persona anyway. He's a complicated guy for a cretin...

2000th Track - Autoportrait Rembrandt ~ la! NEU?
One of la! NEU?'s few REALLY good completely original tracks (see also, Mayday, To Get You Real, Zeeland Wunderbar, Langsam Bewigt aber nicht Traurig, Langweg 27. Mai). Legnthy trance-esque and most importantly motorik. This is perhaps the best example (and best ever) of Dinger's Motorik/Lange Gerade/Endlose Gerade/Apache/4|4 beat, it has given me halucingations! Tips for listening:
-Dark Room
-Lie Down
-Close Eyes
-Make sure you're comfortable
-play track on headphones in full and try to sleep
It gave me visions of flying! Dinger's boasts of having tripped over 1000 times must be founded, of course, I have no idea...

2500th Track - Day One ~ Roedelius & Noh1
This was purely accidental. A short track from a frankly uninspiring album, it shows just what Roedelius is becoming. Indeed, as the master has become much requested in the collaberation department, he is releasing more and more every year. Most of this is quantity not quality; his 'best' recent work "Inlandish" (with Tim Story) is far from the noise blitzes and trance sounds of the mid-70s, the achingly beautiful minatures of the early 80s and the wird symphonies of the late 90s. On a whole, pushing aside the late 80s "Virgin Years" the music he is making now is the least satisfying of his carreer. My advice to readers is to head for Harmonia/Early Cluster if you are a fan of Krautrock, the early 80s solo work if you like ambient and folkiness and the late 90s solo work (Sinfonia Contemporas especially) and work with Cluster at the same time if you like Musique Concrete or the whole 90s experimetal music scene.

KLAUS DINGER, THE GREATEST MUSICIAN EVER. 21/3/46 - 24/3/08 RIP, THE CHICKEN STOPPED DANCING, PITY!!!
