If you know anything about satellite radio, you know that before you go down that road, you have to pick which of two incompatible services and equipment families you want to use.

As pointed out at Major Not Minor Music blog, that probably will not be the case for long.

Yes, XM and Sirius will be one company!

I have a hunch chat Howard Stern is chuckling up his sleeve tonight.

All the major - and probably most minor - record labels are probably holding meetings this week about what this means to them.

They probably want to reap the benefits for themselves - but make sure that consumers do not profit more than they do.

Sony, who is kind of in an uber monopolist situation selling both a ton of music and a ton of the equipment used to enjoy music, is probably going to do something major in response to this.

In the End, it just does not matter.

The future is here.

A lot of people that ignored satellite radio are probably going to spend this month thinking up ways they can make a product or service work with it.

This is huge!
