If you're into cool instrumental hip-hop with piano, you could try Nomak too.

I don't remember if he's from the same label, but DJ Okawari is worth listening to too. You should try his 2nd album, Mirror, or his 3rd, Kaleidoscope.

Did you try anything else from Nujabes' label?

OK I guess. Uyama Hiroto is a pretty cool guy too so he didn't fuck things up.

yeah i've only listened to mmale and ffemale (or whatever it is) and only listened to it once. First impression was that it was pretty good, reminded me a bit of chrome cylinder box (ish). I don't think i'm too familiar with his stuff to go through his other releases yet but i'm guessing this guy is to venetian snares as bogdan rascynski is to aphex twin, a bit of an underdog i assume. I'll give it a few relistens and hopefully it will warm up a bit but its just sitting there atm

definitely, i didn't touch the "childkiller" albums for a while and even after about 3 months some songs i downright refuse to listen to because they're so damn creepy. Don't underestimate the sampling in songs about my cats too, on some of the tracks it sounds like he used the most horrible and discordant things he could find but it works pretty well. When i found out 50% of everything on the album was cat sounds i can't say i wasn't really impressed.

oh yes, my favourite one is the third, that ambient space comes out of nowhere and it absolutely beautiful. Female vocal samples are a bit cheesy though, if it's one thing vsnares doesn't do well (all of the time) it's samples

i know that feel. Kind of a big jazzy flex out. I thought my so called life was ok, but he really needed to tone down the samples, hearing the word retarded every two seconds just isn't funny, sampling it once might have made me smirk a bit. It's by no means his worst but he was pretty lazy. This year would love to see a cubist LP and some decent breaks reminiscent of chocolate wheelchair or another one of his IDM ones. No more rehashes or digging up dead genres for funsies, shit gets old

yeah it seems to go in and out of my favour, about a month ago i found it boring but after relistening to it again im finding lots of other little bits which is making me love it again. The beats are really reminiscent of speed dealer moms stuff

also those vsnares plays are IMPRESSIVE. Did anyone ever find out where he got his samples from on cubist reggae?

i know man, only ceephax i've heard is united acid emirates but it has (sort of) got me into acid house stuff. Listened to buzz caner once too and thought "ah right, this is pretty cool" but generation shit had me in stitches
