(This is an older entry, actually written August 29th of 2009)

Okay, so All Time Low is actually a good bad, despite all my resistance to them because of their popularity. Now, I'm not saying that all popular bands are bad, just that the kind of people making noise about that band was leading me to believe that they'd be rather mediocre. I like them though. :)

Since we're speaking about music. I think that I may be a little too obsessed with it. If I weren't so laid back, I'd definitely be a music snob. I just sometimes cannot understand when people don't like the bands I love. I mean, most of the music I listen to, I can chalk it up to taste. But the great ones, the shining stars. I can't understand how everyone doesn't just eat up everything that drips from them like I do. I just want to shake everyone and say "This stuff is amazing! What is wrong with you?"

Brand New is coming into town October 6th. It's the only reason I plan to go home over Fall Break. BRAND FREAKING NEW.

Okay, so if they aren't the kind of thing you listen to, that's fine. But, they are great lyricist. And I at least need that recognition from people. And Jesse Lacey is the only person who just gets music in the same way. I don't know. I can't explain it. You'd have to hear it. He can say it better than anyone I'm sure.

It's like, it grabs you. You can feel it everywhere. It comes to the point where you know every beat, every sigh, everything about this song, as familiar as the backstreets of your home town. And you don't just hear it, you feel it.

And trapped in your head, with this song is a memory. It's that lifted spirit you remember feeling while around the fire with your friends. It's that calm safety you felt in the backseat of the car, coming home from the concert, when everything was just right in the world. It's the feeling you remember when you held hands under the stars on the summer night with the top down, wind in your hair, cuddled up next to your significant other.

It can bring all of these moments in your life that are so surreal. When you think about them you hold your breath, because if you exhale, the force of your breath will crush this frail memory in your mind. They grab your heart and make it swell.

    Music, it's what's for dinner. <3
