Greetings and salutations.

You know; sometimes being young can really bite.
Are you ready for my teenage angsty sob-sob spiel?
The plus side of this day and age is the progression in technology - we have music at our fingertips now, endless albums/singles/downloads and constant information and updates.
The down side, on my end, is that I am not 18 until July, and am getting a tad peeved at missing out on 18+ events.
Sure, you're probably saying "Be patient Melanie, you can hardly change when you were born!" - but I think I was allowed to be a little upset when I missed out on an 80's night DJ'ed by the keyboardist from Duran Duran.
I bet it was epic!

But I won't complain TOO much about it, only a mere matter of months now.
I am off to see Mindless Self Indulgence in April, who are side by side with The Red Paintings at the Tivoli. Lucky for me (And also very confusing mind you), it is an all ages gig.
I might trip off to see Frenzal Rhomb if I have the money too.

I'm crossing my fingers for a few bands and names to be hopefully showing up here in Brisbane in the next year or so;
Lostprophets would definately be a band I would run to see, and I also wouldn't mind it if Neil Finn played a gig sometime soon - and yes I am aware that his brother Tim Finn is touring around here at the moment.

So on the weekend Soundwave 2009 will be at Riverstage - I am waiting for everyone to go so I can hear how a few bands were. I didn't have the money for it this year but it isn't bothering me too much.
I want to hear how From First To Last and Hellogoodbye perform. Hopefully they play a lot of their old stuff, which I am sure is what fans would be dying to hear more than anything. Nine Inch Nails and Alice in Chains are going to be a riot, I can just feel it.
It's always good having Soundwave here in Brisbane. Riverstage in the city normally holds up a really good show and even though the location is a little bit confusing and sprawled out, it's lovely and shady, which is a godsend in the heat that usually accompanies the festival.
Last year's Soundwave was absolutely fantastic. I mean, including the fact that Jimmy from Mindless Self Indulgence took his pants off and all. Reow.

That's all for me. End ranting, end rambling.
I've been up all night just listening to songs from LastFM and updating bits and pieces. It's been a rather musically enriching evening.
Auf Wiedersehen.
