Merzbow was pretty sweet. He did all improvised stuff and sold it pretty well, he's definitely one of those artists in his own universe. Wolf Eyes were kinda disappointing. Their songs from the studio sounded so raw and since they were live I thought they would match that but it came off as uninteresting to me. It sucks too because when we were leaving we walked right past Merzbow and I didn't realize it, would've been awesome to talk with him.

Thursday I saw Merzbow, American Aquarium, and Wolf Eyes. Friday I saw Late Bloomer, Holy Ghost, Speedy Ortiz, Waxahatchee, and Mikal Cronin (probably the best of the night for me). Saturday I saw Bambara, Lollipops, Breeders, Spirtualized, and John Cale. I didn't know any of the songs Cale played b/c i'd only heard his VU stuff and Paris 1919 but he was SO GOOD. I thought he was the best performance of the festival. As we were heading to the Opera House on Saturday my friend and I ran into J Spaceman of Spiritualized and got to talk with him for 30 minutes, he was awesome. Weird, but awesome. I would've liked to see Earl but all of dem conflicts. Hoping to score some tickets to Mountain Oasis as well since I bought the one day ticket to see NMH.

No kidding? Well you didn't miss anything, I thought the show was shit. The group of people I went with were at the Odd Future collective show last year and said that none of the people on Saturday had anywhere close to the enthusiasm they had at the collective show. Plus I thought it was stupid that Tyler only performed like one verse excerpts of some of the songs. And to top it all off we saw Tyler and Jasper get out of their tour bus right as we were walking in and I said hey to him and he said "Go wait in line, get the fuck out." Can't say I'm surprised that he acts like that in real life but still it was a wtf moment.

Really awesome, thanks for asking. I went with a bunch of people from Elon's radio station and on Friday we went and saw Nas first who was pretty cool, followed by a short set from Miike Snow who were great. Saw Primus later that night and they rocked, had 3-D visuals going the whole time, added so much to the show. Finished the night with Black Moth Super Rainbow and Explosions in the Sky who were both pretty good. On Saturday I saw the Magnetic Fields (and got to meet Stephin Merritt after), then Cold Cave who I had never listened to before but turned out to be awesome, then finished with Death Grips which was by far the most intense show I've ever been to. They had a mic check 20 mins before the show started where Zach Hill and MC Ride came out and did a whole song, then left. By the end of the show I was bloody from my ear to my neck, dunno how but it was wild. Definitely a crazy sick weekend.

Just started listening to them, actually. I remember hearing some of the songs from Actor and stuff a couple years ago but never listened to a full album. Annie's voice is like heaven though, so beautiful. Plus she's an Arrested Development fan so major bonus points.

Yo I dunno if Moogfest is completely out of the question for you but if Death Grips is a deal breaker they're playing Saturday only so you could probably just get a Saturday pass (that's what I just bought). Saturday's also got Thomas Dolby and Magnetic Fields so it should be cool. I'm sad I'm gonna miss Primus but it should still be kickass.

Gahd I'm so jelly. Had no idea Godspeed was playing there too, sounds like an awesome time. I'm trying to go to Moogfest at the end of the month in Asheville. Primus, Magnetic Fields, Death Grips, Miike Snow and a bunch of awesome other people are playing and hopefully the radio station I'm at has extra tickets. I've never been to a festival before and this one seems too good to pass up.

Yo dude I just remembered that you said you were going to see Built to Spill and the Roots at that festival a while back. How was that? Always wanted to see either of those dudes live.

Can you do me a favour and thumb-up all the pictures of rapper Insight (with the dreadlocks) and tumb down ALL the pictures of the rockband? I don't want to see pictures of some rockband in my top 8.

Was there a tour bus? If so, you should've hung out around there. I'm gonna try doing that for The Mountain Goats. Might not be 100% legit, but it's worth a shot.
