Funny how the youtube scroblr doesn't work when I want it to but will occasionally scroble the weirdest things like "Best Ever Mac-n-Cheese" or "How to crochet the crocodile stitch" haha. All I could remember about that show before I started watching it recently was "Not the mama" and "I'm the baby, gotta love me".... but Baby Sinclair is sort of an annoying character in that show honestly. I like Ethyl, Mr. Richfield, Roy.... Robbie is probably my favorite Sinclair, and Earl. Hope you can rewatch it sometime... it was rather ahead of its time in a lot of ways and it has great knack of taking on modern topics like immigration, war, and corporate greed in a funny and insightful way.

Happy Birthday Adam! What I heard of Skogen was cool, need to give another listen. I have not been feeling inspired to listen to much of anything lately, but I seem to be starting to get over that somewhat. Hope your birthday fuckin' rocks!!

Need to get yerself over the Europe next year! Endless shows to choose from. Alan has been in the US twice in recent months too - just not to play. The visa costs alone basically put them $6000 in debt before they've set off and the attendances are so shit compared to Europe they can't make the money back.

Ah, OK. Oh yeah, more than 'satisfied'. It's a real grower of an album ... took about four to five listens to start to unlock it. The final track, Wield Lightning To Split the Sun is destined to be a Primordial standard/classic up there with Heathen Tribes and The Coffin Ships. It's just so soulful and anthemic. Saw them perform a lot of the new tracks on Friday night and arghhhhh .... so great. One of the best Primordial shows of my life. Just searing. Sang every word. I'll see them again in Manchester in February - cannot wait. Oh, the bonus dvd with the new album is well worth the watch - there's an Easter Egg of an entire German show from 2011 and a stunning, fierce set of songs from the French Cernunnos fest earlier this year. Made me wish I was there!

Excellent! I am totally jealous, seriously. He's playing a London show with Die Weisse Rose (just saw them in Leipzig, exceptional stuff( as support in December but the costs of train down there and hotel are prohibitive. Gah! How much of his stuff have you listened to, btw? I wasn't aware you were into DIJ.

I'm only very familiar with 2 or 3 albums but it's not a band I was really ever expecting to see so that's really pretty damn exciting. Aside from that and Pallbearer/Tombs, I plan to go see Death to All and Obituary in December, but no exciting Atlanta shows have been announced for 2015 yet. Oh well, still time for that. I had about half forgotten about your vacation, is it going well? I have been rather busy lately. I just want to do nothing for a weekend and I'm especially moody and irritable today too so I do think I should just isolate myself for a few days, despite all the stuff going this weekend :/

Holy cow- yeah! That show is news to me too... surprised I hadn't heard about it yet since it's pretty damn soon.

Yes, they were really good - awesome in fact! Variety Playhouse was such a cool venue to get to see them at, good enough size but still somewhat intimate. And really $40 ($47 with fees) is a really damn good price for getting to see freaking *legends*... somehow I got the date mixed up and only realized 2 weeks before that it was around the corner but I didn't have it in my budget, so I'm thankful it worked it out. Those guys aren't getting any younger and who knows when they'll tour again. Sorry you couldn't go.

Yes! A friend helped me out with getting a ticket until I could get her paid back. So glad I got to go!

The more I listen to it, the more I think it's a natural follow-on to Death of the Gods. Still, thematically and overall there's a real Nameless Dead feeling going on. Funny though, on first glance, the right hand figure in the artwork actually looks like Alan!

I love it. A great opener in the vein of No Grave or Empire Falls. I'm getting a real Nameless Dead feel from this project so far, actually. Thematically, anyway. Loving the new sound too. Blew my socks off when I first heard it. I'm seeing them launch the album in Dublin at the end of November ... cannot wait. Then the Manchester show in February.

Yeah, Nel is a fan and I saw they were playing on London on Halloween so I'm gonna take her and thought I should check them out. :)

I'd been sporadicly checking various places to see if i was streaming, including Spotify although that seemed unlikely, and just a few days ago it wasn't on there. I actually got an email from Spotify yesterday saying it was available... I was surprised!
