I often feel that some people at have too narrow a scope when it comes to classical music. I recall one thread (back when I still posted on the forum) where the OP tried to come up with sort of "A-list" composers along the lines of your "A-list metal bands" list. The initial proposal was less than 20 composers, which, after a short period of exploration, seems a tad bit blasphemous. What are your thoughts? (Note: I even read somewhere from that "jewrong" fellow - not ANUS-affiliated, I believe - that "Beethoven never actually had a great symphony. Really? Are these people that claim to only exalt a dozen musical artists throughout history actually real?) This idea of "narrow scope" could also apply to electronic music, where only Kraftwerk and Klaus Schulze projects seem to be consistently praised.

There are now crazy ads on my page for Mila Kunis, gay celebrities, testosterone boosters and nutrition. Please advertise rifles, mass death and sodomy instead.

I know what you mean. I have a bad habit of listening to things out of order, but I don't really think I "understand" an album until I hear it in sequence a few times. When I'm familiar with it as a structure, I'll feel less guilty picking & choosing.

It's amazing to see you listening to songs out of album order! Must be a blue moon

A lot of classical music AND underground punk-ish metal and thrash. Nice.

Cartilage's "The Fragile Concept Of Affection" reigns supreme. Any suggestions you've been holding back that are in this vein?

And yes, is much less of an eye-sore than ANUS, though the white background took some getting used to.

What are your thoughts on through-composed metal? Most metal seems unnecessarily reliant on repitition. Could a non-repetitive writing style be (part of) metal's future? What are some notable examples of through-composed metal outside of Deeds of Flesh and Therion? What do you think of this (mostly) through-composed attempt?

I wrote for the Dark Legions Archive/Death Metal Underground, the net's oldest heavy metal site. Prior to the world wide web, it was available via FTP and before that, through a series of text files uploaded to BBSs and AEs.
