Hey, long time no talk! Skinny Puppy, VNV Nation, Haujobb and Youth Code are all coming together for a tour - you gonna see this one? I missed Skinny Puppy last year, so getting to see them with VNV and Haujobb is just gravy to me. Definitely catching them in Atlanta.

Haha! Yes, I was wondering about that, but I also haven't heard enough of The xx to cast judgment. I scrobble a lot of subpar stuff myself in any case.

You mean musically? The primary artists I enjoy haven't really changed since my early 20's. The releases I've been enjoying that came out this year are the new Bowie, Gary Numan, Sopor Aeternus, and David E. Williams albums. I also like the new limited edition Swans live album "Not Here / Not Now." I think it's their most brutal live album since Public Castration Is a Good Idea. Brutality alone doesn't always do a whole lot for me, but I think the songs are genuinely good. I'm looking forward to their next studio album, whenever that happens.

I mostly agree. I do like a handful of songs on Kunst(Kunst, Quake, Pussy Riot and Psuedocide notably) but overall I rate it similar to Blitz, WWIII, Attak; albums that, while not bad in my eyes, are just pretty spotty. They're supposedly already 50% done with a new record and while I'm always interested in hearing new KMFDM, I feel like the greater the time gap, the better records they've put out(which isn't really a surprise). WTF?! in particular I thought was heads and shoulders above Blitz. As for Skinny Puppy, yeah, I'm pretty excited about that one! I don't know if you ever formed a final opinion on Weapon, but I thought it was quite good, probably one of my post reformation favorites. So Cal would be nice! But I'm glad they're hitting Charlotte this time around, which is simply closer and easier to drive in and out of than Atlanta.

You gonna catch a show on this tour? Atlanta was tonight but I elected not to go. Setlist was a little too similar to catch them twice in one year. Skinny Puppy will be coming around in February, though, and that's definitely one I'll go to; haven't seen them since the Myth R Us tour

  • Dreamxe Hmm, if this one is accurate, the list is very similar to the last one. I'll likely go regardless, but it's a little disappointing.

Have you been able to access the UHB lately? I haven't been able to get on the forum in quite a while now. Kinda sucks with the tour incoming, I'd like to see setlist and all the other discussion surrounding the tour

Need a little more time for FLA to fully sink in, but so far I like it. The guitars are largely gone and there's much more in the way of EDM; some 'wub wub' here and there, but not so much that FLA has gone dubstep or anything. The new SP I like, it definitely reminds me a lot of Remission era SP done on new equipment. So far, industrial(yeah, I know) is having a decent year. Looking forward to the new NIN, even if the lead single sounded a little too familiar.

Got an opinion on the new Skinny Puppy yet?

Okay then, I did see you. I was directly behind the table that was directly behind you. I'd been sitting there for some time but stepped out onto the patio for a cigarette. I was expecting there to be a second opening band, so when I heard Requiem begin I scrambled back to my former spot, almost getting punched a couple times in the process.

I was with my wife on the extreme right, leaning up against a red panel. Awesome show whether you got pics of me or not though.

Agreed! A well rounded set indeed, though I would LOVE to hear Farewell again live that set seems pretty across the board. Which makes sense considering it's like a "greatest hits" advertised show or something. My history with the band started in 2006 when a friend gave me a cd-r with all these albums in it and Pink was one of them. I listened to it, appreciated it and like you didn't really click with me till two years later or such. I became obsessed with that record and then started to get completely into all of their other material. Such an amazing band to follow for sure!

Nice Boris pictures man, I'm getting ready to see them in roughly three weeks. I saw them in 2010 and they blew me away so getting to see them again is going to be awesome. By chance, do you remember the setlist from the show you saw? Nice taste by the way.

Some setlists were showing I <3 Not(DBYT) where apparently the music was DBYT and the vocals to I <3 Not were placed over it. Was that the case in your show? It's on youtube, and I have to say, it sounded pretty awesome.

Did you end up attending either of the concerts? Mine is coming up on Sunday -- originally thought I wasn't gonna be able to make it, but it turns out I don't have to work and I found someone to go, so it's KMFDM ahoy!
