Hey, I tries asking in the blog but I kinda drowned in the sea of comments. I buy a ton of CDs, pretty much to support bands. Would the average band on a label prefer me to download the album and buy a shirt instead? I'm assuming this doesn't apply to bands self releasing their albums.

I just recommended Comorant to my friend. I'm waiting for Friday to come so I can order the new cd :) I'm really psyched. P.S. read the articles, I had no idea it was that tough on new metal bands, I already buy cds to try and support, that just encouraged me to do it that much more. Thanks!

Oh, and uh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmFRkz6Aw38 (Fairyland, gay ass name and flowery as possible), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KqBzPqGDjw (My friend Derik's band, he plays guitar), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IP1ng7n7oTg (More cheese)... Tell me if you want more horribly gay flower music. XD

Depends how much cheese you want on that, TBQH. I've had "Intergalactic Space Crusaders" stuck in my head for about a day and a half. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3q7lwl5nSQ Note the manbitch fight between Arjen and Russell Allen (they basically go back and forth trying to one-up each other with how prepared for space they are), Russell Allen's air-lightsaber fight (3:20), his wiggling dance (whole thing), and the shiny-ass costumes. The music isn't that good (at all, really), but the quirkyness makes me laugh.

that's awesome to hear man. glad to know you guys are doing so damn well, great news! Things are alright here, kind of slow at the moment. New music.. well the new Megadeth is fantastic, a throwback to the Rust in Peace-era, and there's a new Manegarm coming out shortly that i'm greatly anticipating, and also loving the new Suffocation but not sure how you feel 'bout those guys. Oh and Altar of Plagues - White Tomb is really good irish black metal.

Here is a potential article idea that I have always pondered and it is one which I would love to read and learn more about, especially from a band perspective: What lengths do bands go to (If at all) to try to stop thier albums from being leaked on the internet, or get taken down from torrents, blogspots, youtube, etc.?

yeah, i read it already, scary stuff man! I'll look forward for that, since we're right now wondering if we should record a demo ep in a studio (and drop a shitload of cash if we want it to sound good) or if we should record it ourselves. I'll add you in myspace so you can hear some of our songs if you want to. Cheers and thanks for the support!

hey man, thanks for the add! i've discovered your music through the metalsucks interview, and it's absolutely awesome. i am the vocalist for a band that tries to achieve the same synthesis of genres you guys have, and everyone's mind was blown when i showed them metazoa. Keep up the great work, can't wait for the follow-up!

Yeah, it's one of those where you keep expecting a dud track and it just never comes. It's the first I've heard from them too, they have anything else of the same quality? Oh, and I'm sure you'll almost be bored of praise by now, but that article was pretty damn illuminating. Bit depressing too, of course, but that sorta came with the territory. Nice work.

Yeah I'm always trying to be as truthful and definitive with my statements as possible. Also I strive to be fair to all people, and I understand I can't make decisions for other people. But I DO judge people by what I observe of them, and in my town the gay community is hipster/scenish (a greater portion). So I'm biased as well =/ But I believe everyone should know how they truly feel, and I hope they feel they're naturally attracted to the same/both sexes and aren't just over indulging in hedonistic, sexual endeavors, which is why my dad thinks people "choose" to be gay. A lot of the times (or at least in Greek culture as a lotta people are familiar with hedonism and sexual infatuation is a reason for homosexuality or at least homoerotic experimentation. But I really truly believe that more than most gays are being true to their hearts then being obsessed with sex. That was the possible "counter argument" I was trying to throw out there--but I don't believe it (entirely).

Bricks were shat whilst reading the article. That was mind blowing. I loved the insight that you provided by breaking down the contract, especially into sections, and giving details on what it meansin general, what it means to the bands bands, what it means to labels, and using figures to show how bands really do rely on the fans to buy thier music because of what the labels demand from thier contracts. Ace of a read. Great job.

What's up? Did you ever read that whole speech on gay rights I wrote (the part that I don't believe you responded to)? I wasn't trying to piss you off by telling you what my father thought, I was just saying he had some gravitas to his argument. Anyway, how's everything going? Setting up a tour and such?

Hey Arthur, when can I expect to see Metazoa in stores? Alternatively, if I man up and get Paypal, I can still order a shirt + album package, just I don't get the poster, right?
