What do you make of the new albums from Demians and Lunatic Soul? It took a few listens, but I really like [album artist=Demians]Mute[/album] - it has a nice balance of material. Not so keen on [album artist=Lunatic Soul]Lunatic Soul II[/album] though, although I've only listened once so far. It just seems a little too meandering and aimless. Both are streaming in full via www.we7.com if you've not heard them.

I'm not sure any new music I have is really 'out there', so these may seem a little tame. [artist]Engineers[/artist]' Three Fact Fader - grabbed a d/l and I think it's going to be a purchase. They're support to PT in the UK. It's shoegaze/dream pop type stuff - atmospheric, light, floating... Has a couple of dull moments, but overall a strong album. Similarly, the new EP from [artist]Mew[/artist] is good, if a little predictable. A bit of an acquired taste, but it is on last.fm: [album artist=Mew]No More Stories[/album]. [artist]Riverside[/artist]'s new effort is also worth checking out, but avoid the edited versions of tracks: [album artist=Riverside]Anno Domino High Definition[/album]. A wild card - [artist]IAMX[/artist], featuring [artist]Sneaker Pimps[/artist]' front man. Sleazy electro-pop, yet still quite classy: [album artist=IAMX]Kingdom of Welcome Addiction[/album]. The new [artist]Clutch[/artist] release - [album artist=Clutch]Strange Cousins From the West[/album] - rocks!

Glad you like the [artist]Lunatic Soul[/artist] – you clearly don't do things by halves! ;o). I didn't say it was 'like' any of the other artists I listed, just that it sits in their realm. The SW/CK comparison is for the electronic bits and for being 'rock' without necessarily rocking. Demians I mentioned for the 'clarity' of the vocals. They're pieces of the puzzle. I think sounds fairly unique, but the eastern influences remind me of Zep / Plant more than anything else. The more ambient stuff isn't as good as the rest of the album, although I love the emptiness of [track artist=Lunatic Soul]The Final Truth[/track]. If you dig the vocals, try Mariusz Duda's main band [artist]Riverside[/artist] – it's solid prog without being too out there. On a bit of a tangent, have you tried any [artist]Pure Reason Revolution[/artist] yet?

Yoot. Check out [artist]Lunatic Soul[/artist] - kind of sits between [artist]Steven Wilson[/artist]'s solo stuff, [artist]Demians[/artist] and [artist]Chroma Key[/artist]. It's pleasantly lacking in guitar riffs and quite rhythmic, as you might expect from a bass player. It took me a few listens to get into it, but it has been in the player every day for the last two weeks now. The whole thing is streaming on last.fm if you want to give it a punt.

Haha not a problem, you don't look like the kind of person that just goes around adding random people to have 800 friends :P

I see you've been digging [artist]Demians[/artist] – good stuff, isn't it? They were due to support [artist]Anathema[/artist] in Brum a couple of weeks back, so a friend and I splashed the silly amount of cash for tickets. Somehow Demians botched it – couldn't get their kit working or something – and didn't play. Not even a couple of acoustic tracks. Can't say I was very happy about it. That's the French for you. ;o) There's a non-album track called "Routine" out there. It was on their MySpace, but if it isn't there now I managed to snag a copy.

Haha same sort of thing happened to me too when I was 10 - 11 years old. I had a Charizard, which was really hot these days, and I had been waiting for a Charizard like forever, and when I had him 3 days, I traded him for a shiny Scyther and a Magnemite. Could I BE any more stupid!? :p

I did previously prefer the red, but the current design 'painted black' does look pretty good. I have to write code that works in IE6, so it is my default browser in the office (it's also the only browser supported by the Co's IT bods). My theory is that if I can get stuff working in IE6, it's not usually much of a jump to cover the better behaved browsers. They do seem to be working on last.fm - the number of serious issues has dropped noticeable over night. I've found work-arounds for just about everything else. Anyway, music - give [artist]Minuek[/artist]'s track a listen. It's not ground breaking, but should go well enough with your current electronic stuff.

i just wanted to say "thank you", for the paint it black theme. It looks fantastic, and I send the link to all of my friends being tired of this crappy new "layout". Thank you so much!

I like what you've done with moving the profile info into the right column. I've been working on adding that to the script (http://userstyles.org/styles/8671), but thus far, I haven't perfected the look when you're on someone else's page. The taste-o-meter and "Add as Friend" and "Send a Message" buttons are a little misplaced. Have you gotten around that problem with you css?
