Suddenly almost all Viikate songs have become streamable. I would like to extend a big KIITOS to the responsible parts and hurry to tag my favourite songs.

The top 10 Viikate songs in my charts, adjusted according to the pre-Last.fm play counts in iTunes:

1. Routaisten peltojen pehtoorit
- Instrumental, spaghetti-westernesque

3. Mandschurian kummut
- Instrumental, nostalgic

3. Karmiini juhlasali
- Infernal, swinging. "…seurassa tässäpä ei / kuljeta polkua kaitaa…"

- Walzer, sentimental…

8. Roudasta rospuuttoon
- I like the title, which is almost impossible to translate if your language doesn't have a special word for subterranean frost and the sleety, muddy season when it melts. Instrumental.

8. Kylymä
- In north-east Finnish dialect, "cold". With the extra syllable, it somehow feels even colder.

8. Arvovaltaa
- "Me olemme sorron lapsia. Ankara on elon taisto." - We are children of oppression. Hard is life's struggle. (Kertookohan tämä laulu lapualaisten kyydityksistä? Jotenkin tulee 30-lukulainen olo. "…Taipaleelleen poimii / Poimii mukaan kulkijan / Jos savukkeesta lähtee vaik' tuoksu mahorkan…")

EDIT: Rivi "Siis laulos pyhä vala (/ tahtiin katajain)" muistuttaa sotilasvalan yhteydessä laulettua "Kuullos pyhä vala…" Ylen levystön mukaan muuan Jukka Koskinen on äänittänyt vala-laulun joskus 70-luvulla albumille Seitsemänkymmentä vuotta pohjantähden alla, muttei näytä jättäneen jälkiään Last.fm:ään.

8. Yönseutu
- "Lattia kylmennyt aamun tullen ja unen velkakin entisestään
Kasvaa kuin takuumiehiksi kelpaa
Kuutamo, Kaiho ja Katkeruus …" Damn! This song is about ME. Well, not really, but something tells me it could be…

10. Suojelusenkeli
- Composed by Pekka Juhani Hannikainen (1854-1924), this hymn is very well known in Finland and describes how the guardian angel leads a child through the "wilderness" full of dangers and temptations. Very dark and suggestive.

Damn, I forgot about the 10th and final one. Oh well, I can't decide. It's either On aivan sama (because it's from Sweden, the Finn forests in Värmland) or Iltatähden rusko, which is either about a hip flask or a little puppy (don't ask).
