Progressive rock
Il rock progressivo (progressive rock, talvolta abbreviato semplicemente in prog) è un genere e una corrente della musica rock, nato in Inghilterra alla fine degli anni sessanta e sviluppatosi principalmente nella prima metà degli anni Settanta. Il nome descrive il fatto che questo genere rappresenta la progressione del rock dalle sue radici blues, di matrice americana, ad un livello maggiore di complessità e varietà compositiva, melodica, armonica e stilistica.
