I just received the February 2007 issue of the Indian movie magazine Filmfare which contains the Filmfare Power List 2006.

As in 2005, tamil composer A.R. Rahman tops the music list.
Filmfare says:
>> The music of Rang De Basanti / Rang De Basanti kayoed the music charts, earning him this enviable position.
The Merlin of music weaves his magic with unweavering flair whether desi or videshi.
And the magic spills over into 2007 with Guru, Jodha Akbar and Lajjo.
Strength: He can look Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra in the eye and say no.
Weakness: Too damn slow. His taciturn nature is often mistaken for arrogance.
Yes it's true: Every musician today, with exception, is a Rahman clone.
Filmfare Awards: 17 (8 in the North and 9 in the South) <<
The full music Top 10
1) A.R. Rahman
2) Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy (Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa)
3) Himesh Reshammiya
