@ Mechayoshi, It's a little tricky to figure out at first, but once you see it then it becomes obvious that the hidden meaning is: "The end of the world will begin with the popping of an animal baloon unless the popper's hair smells like curry."

@Yliannos So you're saying that because some listeners are trying to interpret the meaning of songs they are psuedo-intellectuals? I don't see how that makes any sense at all. Isn't music about finding meanings in songs that is suitable for you? If you want to believe Maynard wrote this song "for the fuck of it" then that is your oppinion. Others might not be satisfied with that which results in them trying to find a deeper meaning my analyzing lyrics and everything. Music is all about oppinion and IMO only because someone analyzes songs to state oppinions they shouldn't be called psuedo-intellectuals.

Deeper meaning or not, this sort of work has the capacity to fill a listener with various thoughts and emotions. It's enjoyable to interpret meaning and consider what the composer may have intended while developing the track. Certainly, preaching about a higher class of music, far above the commoner's tune in these circumstances is generally moronic, but it doesn't change what I've just said. I very much enjoy this form of ambient work. The incredible production quality and setting of mood in this track—which is seen everywhere else on 10,000 days as well—is why I love Tool. Even if the composer doesn't give a toss about meaning, I think it's quite fine for the individual to build an ivory tower.

Do you know what I hate the most? People who try to over-analyze noise like this and call it a masterpiece which conveys a divine message or some shit. What if Keenan just made this for the fuck of it? What if there is no higher message hidden in it? Everything's not complicated, it's a shame pseudo-intellectuals can't seem to understand that.
