Its funny how everyone dissing this cover are the same ones who have tagged it wrong, the people who have tagged it 'Ný batterí', its proper title, all seem to think its pretty great, personally I prefer the original, but this is amazing also. =]
it's not that bad of a cover. i enjoyed it personally. it's pretty hard to recreate a made up language (hopelandic). it would even be hard to recreate an actual icelandic song. but this is a made up language. you need to give the man more credit.
not my favorite cover, but in his defense, there were no actual lyrics to work with. every album before "takk..." was in hopelandic, which isn't an actual language. it's just jonsi making noises (albeit transcendental, amazing ones). so the vocalist did a pretty good job, all things considered
It's surprisingly good!! Really impressed, especially for a guy who doesn't really speak Icelandic.
I thought it was a joke when I heard about this cover and didn't get how it would work, but it really does.
considering hes singing in a completely different language i think he did quite well. But im not sure if i like it, sometimes i hate it sometimes i think its great, it depends what mood im in.
good attempt though i guess
I like Thursday a lot, I like Sigur Ros a lot, but this cover is pretty meh. Although it's not terrible, there's nothing about this cover that would ever compel me to listen to it instead of the original. It's not innovative enough to provoke any new appreciation for the song, and it's not same-y enough to feel like a painstaking and loyal cover. It's nice to see Thursday out pushing their boundaries a bit but I'm not likely to fall in love with this song.
