    I'll never understand why these guys couldn't get a foothold in the American market. "Too entirely Canadian" is the stock response, but I don't really buy it. I've seen the Hip three times, all wonderful, and the crowd response at Woodstock '99 was amongst my most patriotic moments. There's no way these guys don't impress crowds from Santa Fe to Raleigh to Portland to Kansas City, leaving out their popularity in US cities that get Canadian radio (Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo, etc).

    I love the Hip for writing a song about Dieppe, too many people in Canada seem to be embarassed that we even have a military at all. Course it doesn't hurt that it's just a straight up fantastic rock song.
