Between The Heart And The Synapse by The Receiving End Of Sirens (09/02/2009)

    http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f129/a1m0n/reviews/TREOS.jpg

Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, The Receiving End Of Sirens present us with what happens when five musically talented chaps get together and jam. That’s right; they present us with their wonderful Post-Hardcore, Shakespearian-esqe, conceptual brainchild – Between the Heart and the Synapse. This debut album is what most bands cannot achieve in a lifetime, featuring 13 tracks including a prologue, intermission and epilogue, naturally.

As hinted, the album opens with “Prologue” which gradually teases you into the story that’s about to unfold, beginning with their first single, “Planning a Prison Break”. The song kicks in with Brendan Brown (vocals, bass) emphatically belting out the incredibly catchy chorus to the beat of Andrew Cook on drums. That’s right, TREOS (as they are affectionately known) are only a bloody three-pronged guitar attack…

  • I don't even know what to call this...

    Giu 8 2007, 10:18 di porouian

...despite it being pinched from other profiles. People just don't come up with creative names for quiz type filly-out things. As I obviously do. Still if you haven't anything nice to say, why say anything at all, as my koro would tell you.

Anyhow, it's going to be a matter of me listing my top 30 artists, the first song of theirs I heard, my favourite song of theirs overall, and my current favourite song by that artist. Rulin', right?

    Well I think so.
    It's an exquisite time waster.

  • Give A Name 2007 London Review

    Apr 30 2007, 20:40 di JamieDrama

First off amazing weekend. Mainly thanks to the people I spent it with I really do have some of the most amazing people in my life.

Oh and if you said hello to me you were one of the reasons i have bruises on my arms because of a certain few peoples little games thru out the weekend!

So now onto the music, I have to admit I didnt bother with most of the bands so i'll just write abit about the bands that I wanted to see and how they did.

    Friday

    Juliette & The Licks
I hadn't heard much of their stuff other than what pops up on tv now and then and i'm not a fan of bands fronted by celebs as all the attention is how they are and not the band themselves but honestly they werent that bad tbh!

    4 Out Of 10

    Fightstar
Not sure what I can say about this band other than they never really let you down that much plus they have a good habit of winning over a crowd. the main downfall to this band is that people cant let go of the fact that charlie was in busted whats a shame cause…

Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

NOTE: There are repeating artists so some can be used more than once... a lot more than once ;) It's random.

  • Albums you need

    Lug 15 2006, 10:16 di forgetrehab

Well I've been out of commission in regards to not having the internet for ages so I figured I'd whip up a journal entry so I can blab on about what albums and eps have been getting severe rotation in my absence.

So first off I guess I should mention Further Seems Forever and their fine effort The Moon Is Down. I started this little thing where I put albums on my ipod that I don't listen to all that often, and this album grew on me to the point where I became rather obsessed with it. The first song to really hit me was the raw power of Monachetti. Then after that I discovered the awesome Snowbirds & Townies which received heavy rotation around the time I had a photo imaging project. I really wanted to use that song as background music for my presentation, but sadly it didn't quite fit! Still a great song. The whole album is an absolute cracker and if you don't have it then I think you should make the effort.

The Receiving End Of Sirens also got a bunch of listens. …
