This album is strong, and may be their best. Karen seriously unleashes her voice in these songs. The rest of their work really lacks the same energy.

I finally got around to listening to this album, and it's what, 2010! I first heard Wonder of Birds when it first came out, on a radio promo cd. Fell in love with the song! Some great tunes on here, including Paper Dolls, Clear To You, Broken Circle, Wonder of Birds, and Medjugorje. Paper Dolls and Medjugorje are great bookends for the album, but I wish they were longer songs! I get into this great vibe when listening to them, and then they end. Too short for such great songs.

I love this album, but not the later ones actually! This one is like somewhere between 80s Fleetwood Mac and 90s Cocteau Twins, and I mean that in the best of ways.

Good God, someone takes things a little seriously. I happen to love this album... and their later works. *shrugs*

Holy freaking 80s. When I listen to the wretched noises emerging from this album, it’s enough to make me second guess my doubts about evolution. If The Innocence Mission that I know and love today had its genesis in this 80s drivel, it’s much easier for me to believe that primitive man sprouted from a lightening-struck single celled organism. If this auditory nightmare is your first exposure to The Innocence Mission, don’t throw yourself off a bridge to make it stop. Sample its more current albums elsewhere such as Befriended. The Innocence Mission is truly one of my most beloved bands of all time. The band’s songwriting ability is unmatched, and Karen’s melodic and peculiar voice is transcendent. That’s why it pains me so much that the band has this giant red stain on their song writing track record. In the end, we will all need to forgive our dearly beloved band. We all have skeletons in our closets…or maybe I should say, we all have troglodytes in our caves.
