Dic 30 2012, 15:41 di JeekabsWell, folks, another year has passed again, so, by following to my first and second blog entries, I will put down the list of my favourite artists, tracks and albums of the year 2012.
This has been an awesome year for me, starting from taking the part at the finals of international moot court competition at Oxford, Great Britain and ending up with running a 42.195 km marathon, earning a bronze medal at the Latvian student championships in swimming and triumphing at the legal journal Jurista Vārds legal research paper competition, not to mention defending final bachelor thesis with distinction, starting a professional career, being awarded with a scholarship from a prestigous law firm and enjoying the life and Roman holiday with my beloved friend of friends Laura. In other words, this year was great!
Unfortunately, I was so busy by doing all of those things, that I was not able to listen and enjoy as much of great music as I would love to. …
Dic 31 2011, 12:27 di goldselfdoroczna psychoanaliza mojego last.fm'a wydaje sie byc calkiem niezlym pomyslem na ostatnie przedpoludnie tego roku, bo przeciez chyba kazdy lubi bawic sie w podsumowania, dlatego przedstawiam moje wlasne top30 tego roku; wydarzenia, albumy, wykonawcy, piosenki (bo zestawienia dla kazdej tej kategorii robic nie bede, jeszcze jednak noworoczne porządki czekają):

Ott 22 2011, 5:23 di imnottwiggyIf you had asked me what sort of sound Kraddy Created before i heard Anthems of the Hero i would of said glitch, crunkstep, sometimes big beat, with a hint of hip-hop. That is what i was expecting.
Instead the album kicks of with a breakbeat vibe with big beats, beat counts infused with with the The Glitch Mob's tweaks. (Four minutes into the first track "The Holy Avenger" it edges towards groove metal).
It's making me wonder where (if any) he has taken his influences from!
Been in Britain, artists such as Hadouken! and Pendulum fuse Grime + breakbeat, trying over the past few years to keep the flame going...
I'm wondering if these influences have crossed the pond!!
Anywho, back to the album, which is like listening to a comic book!
With track six "Heart Anthem" been a turning point and a change back to Kraddy's usual pace, which takes up a strong beat as if in celebration of the heroes achievements.
The upbeat grandeur of the hero continues into track seven "The Legend"..
Ott 12 2011, 16:25 di Starfire_The last few days I've either been busy with university or just too lazy to do it, but it's that time of the year again.
I'll keep it short though and yes, I DID achieve my goal of 100 GB music, although it was due to a grand sacrifice, i.e. I have no free disk space now:
Most of the music I found myself, but I still bow my head before the people who has sent, are sending and will send me more music x3 I believe there's much more music than 100 GB one can store (although, at the present moment, I don't have the capacity for that).
Might this be the conclusion of my journal entries concerning my folders and may I share experience from the new music I gathered for the past year:
imoutoid - Agent yoru wo iku
It is again thanks to my friend Vivi for me to be introduced to this awesome track ^^
The Glitch Mob - Drive It Like You Stole It
DJ Frane - In The Garden
Also, I can't exclude my most favorite song from Final Fantasy X:

The Mars Volta
Emilie Autumn [x2]
Mindless Self Indulgence [x3]
Genghis Tron [x2]

The Birthday Massacre
Giu 20 2011, 23:06 di underpangsIt's been far longer than it feels since I last wrote a post like this and it makes picking a small set of albums much more difficult. This ended up as a mix of what i've recently discovered and some of my favourites from the second half of last year.
Baths - Cerulean
Pretty much my favourite album of last year. Beautiful, lazy, summery, lo-fi, a little glitchy and all-over fuzzy. It's a warm blanket of a record that just makes me smile. It might even come under the heading of "chill wave" too.
♫ Lovely Bloodflow, ♥
Austra - Feel It Break
Canadian electronica with seriously bad music videos. I got hooked on a couple of tracks played at a party and hunted down the album. Bits remind me of The Knife, some others The Organ
♫ Beat and the Pulse, Lose It
The xx - xx
Lastly, an album I'm very late to the party with. But, it is incredible and I wouldn't want anyone else to overlook it. The sound is so utterly precise, not a note wasted or misplaced, everything sounds taught.
