Feb 20 2011, 20:37 di gilbertbodartyesterday, i dj'd before and after the Richard Youngs, Ignatz, Edgar Wappenhalter shows. dont remember in what order i played them, but is the full list of all the tracks that were played. a rather mixed bag i think: old and new, 'popular' and obscure, minimal and full blown, absctract or melodic. i can recommend all these songs, and all the albums/eps that the tracks are on.

Buona esecuzione ma soprattutto grande la scelta dei pezzi: One Hundred Years, Siamese Twins, In Between Days, Just Like Heaven, Jumping Someone Else’s Train (ottima la batteria!), Shake Dog Shake.
Ott 12 2007, 2:53 di catsaregreyThe Cure's Disintegration album is arguably the band's biggest, both commercially and aurally. Since being released in May of 1989, it has since been certified double-platinum and has become known as the band's (read: Robert Smith's) magnum opus, finding its way on many "Best Of" lists and even being declared by Kyle (Broflovski, of South Park fame) as "The best album ever!" But, despite the almost universal acclaim, the real accomplishment was that the band was even still around in some form in '89, let alone selling millions of records.
By the late 80's, the Cure had become the strangest, and yet oddly alluring, pop stars of the decade. Still riding high on the double whammy success of The Head on the Door, which helped to break them in America, and the immense and eclectic Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, a double album that drew double the audience, the Cure were now filling stadiums and fighting off rabid fans with the best in arena rock acts. …
Apr 20 2007, 17:26 di infusedwithskol...just a couple song lyrics that were floating around in my head as i tried in vain to sleep earlier.
the cure- siamese twins
'leave me to die, you won't remember my voice
i walked away and grew old
you never talk, we never smile
i SCREAM you're nothing, i don't need you anymore
it fades and spins...fades and spins'
(for the emptiness of being with someone, yet still feeling utterly alone)
and... death cab for cutie- a lack of color
'to call at 7:03, on your machine i slur a plea
for you to come home
but i know it's too late
i should've given you a reason to stay'
(wistful, always hoping but knowing that time has passed)
and then i just listened to devotchka 'how it ends' for the 100th time, but this particular time it put my heart in a vice grip. i guess i appreciate some songs more when i'm sleep-deprived. Siamese TwinsA Lack of ColorHow It Ends
