The Bird And The Bee è un duo indie Pop di Los Angeles formato da Greg Kurstin (“Bee”) e Inara George (“Bird”). Kurstin, un produttore e tastierista che ha lavorato con Lily Allen, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Beck, The Flaming Lips, Kylie Minogue e Red Hot Chili Peppers è anche membro dei Geggy Tah. Inara George conosce Kurstin mentre lavorava al suo album d’esordio di lei e hanno deciso di collaborare in un progetto elettro pop con influenze jazz.
Il loro debutto avviene con l’EP Again and Again and Again and Again, pubblicato nell’Ottobre del 2006, mentre il loro primo album viene pubblicato il 23 gennaio del 2007 dalla Blue Note Records. Stando a quanto dichiarano sulla pagina MySpace, “Greg e Inara si sono conosciuti poco tempo fa. Hanno scoperto un comune amore per gli standard jazz… per un paio d’ore hanno suonato tutte le canzoni che conoscevano… poi hanno registrato un disco assieme”.
Questo disco è un EP contenente tre tracce, intitolato Again and Again and Again and Again, pubblicato dalla Blue Note Records il 31 Ottobre del 2006. Nell’EP è incluso un remix di un loro brano, Fucking Boyfriend, che ha fatto parlare molto del duo. Nel dicembre del 2006 un remix dello stesso brano primeggia nella Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart, ma a causa del suo titolo, le radio ne hanno trasmesso la versione ‘censurata’ durante le loro rotazioni.
