This month's mix starts off a little slow but picks up in the middle with some fun electronic-type-stuff. The first track comes from the National Parks Project, an interesting collaboration between Canadian musicians, film-makers, and conservationists in which the artists were dropped in national parks across the country and told to make films/songs to document their experiences. A lot of it is a little too ambient/artsy for my tastes, but there are a few standout tracks and looking at the pictures in the liner notes really makes me want to do some traveling.
Other May highlights include new albums from the Handsome Furs, Wild Beasts, and Bon Iver, as well as a long-awaited collaboration between Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat. …
