My highlight of the year must be Bobby Womack. Like in 2010 I now discovered another "granddad"(Gil Scott-Heron) who didn't lost the connection with modern electronics.
I have a weak-spot for this generation because they bring the soul and jazz sounds to modern music and shape an unique cross-over sound. The music instantaneously get a melancholic touch.
Sad-fully Gil Scott-Heron passed away the other year and shortly after I read the news that Bobby Womack was diagnosed with signs of early Alzheimer's...
