This album is excellent on technique and I dig the discordance, but the biggest problem is the lack of hooks or catchy melodies. The album doesn't stay with me when I turn it off.

I'm nuts about this album at the moment. I just keep playing it over and over… I like it more than How to Grow a Woman from the Ground, in many ways. The people who diss Punch because it sounds 'dischordant' should go listen to jazz or experimental music like Zorn. Well, I guess my point is that there are way more dischordant albums out there… And it works great in this context.

I prefer Chris's "Not all who wanders... This Punch Brothers album was... not very satisfying, and I prayed for the long tracks to end. The short ones are kinda nice.
