Biografia

@doctorKozi: I'm kind of surprised he got away with saying even as much as he did. I thought major labels kept a bit tighter reins on their bands than that. @isolatedwefall: I don't know if Tent 3 is even worth hunting down. I keep hearing it's the worst show they've ever put on DVD. Hide and Seek is supposed to be better, but I'll just wait until that mythical day when I can buy the damn thing. I think filesharing as a cultural phenomenon is on its last legs, what with the Megaupload takedown. (Ed: sry mispell, reposting. jesus I'm striking out on spelling today.)

No single that I know of, just Tent 3 re-packaged w/Ink live CD. And yeah, I know it really is not them; I seem to remember an interview from awhile back where Tadashi said that they went to a major label because there weren't really any differences between major and indie labels anymore... I always figured he meant "The contracts are shitty no matter who we sign with."

These clauses must be from his record label. They are not a worldwide-touring band, so it's normal that they supplanted that disadvantage with constant releases of their stuff on Japan. Is there any single coming soon?, i'm totally disconected from the pura news.

Platree re-releasing Tent 3 on DVD. Makes the third DVD+CD package released in less than a year. Someone clue me in, is this shit normal in their scene? Because it reads like desperation or something to me. And I know it isn't normal for them. I mean, if they're just being greedy asses I'm fine with it; don't really care about their off-camera behavior. But not all their fans are going to be quite so tolerant, I don't think... (edit: I'm aware the band very likely doesn't have direct control over what gets released, but they probably do have some say in who they sign with. They're not helpless children; they've been in the business twenty years, I'm sure they knew what to expect when they signed with their current label.)

I'm sorry, but "Namida drop" is really their weakest song ad honorem. Well, maybe they have even weaker songs, but this one was a single- a single! Definitely NO.

I don't know if it's just me but when I listened to My Bloody Valentine's new song, Wonder 2... it kind of reminded me of Piano Black in terms of style and elements. Which made me really happy [ultimately bec MBV is one of their personal influences, and PB is released prior to mbv so there's no way that PB is another one of those "homage" songs]. I think they're in a good sonic direction for a band that exists for almost 20 years without any creative time off. I love INK. I have the Regular Edition so I have 218 [I'll try to upload soon] and that song is just phenomenal. Most of the tracks, especially those composed by Tadashi, reminded me of My Vitriol [which is another gaze-y band]. They're definitely nailing this style. :) Kimi Wa Canaria is my favorite track on INK after many whirls. My least favorite Pura song is Spica. There are some mediocre, unimaginative songs like Namida Drop and Mizuiro Girlfriend but I can tolerate them. I can't stand Spica though.

I don't care for Thirteenth Friday on its own (not bad, just not my favorite), but that song live was one of the best moments of the night off Jitsuen Ban Ammonite. And I would also love to hear 218. @isolatedwefall: It's the full-length version of 96小節、長き不在, off Ink. 218 is only on the normal edition, haven't seen it around yet...

@snow: I have the same apreciation of Piano Black, thats why I was criticizing the lack of creativity on Ryutaro's melodies. Also, what is 218小節、かくも長き不在。?

    Has anyone located 218 ?

To isolatewefall: I believe Piano Black would be the more interesting Shoegaze song of the two if it weren't for the typical vocal melody. Take out the Electronic backdrop and he sounds like he's singing any other Plastic Tree song. Thirteenth Friday wasn't their most imaginative, I agree, but it was a refreshing departure from what their music usually sounds like these days.
