@ Nopuppet, we don't talk about Phantasm from Los Angeles, but the one based in Milwaukee.

This is my favorite death metal band of all time. I feel unbelievably fortunate for the knowledge of this band's existence. Their style is so unlike anything I have heard in death metal before. Literally, if I looked up bands for a similar sound to these guys, I would fail to find it, and I've listened to a lot o death metal. The way these guys put together so unconventional, yet they way they pull it off makes it some of the most bizarre sounding and genuinely awesome sounding bands I have ever heard in my life. Their style is so much more then going through the motions like a normal death metal band would. The way I would describe their music is low fi horror death metal. Not like campy horror. I mean like the low guitars, the sudden changes in tempo. I make the analogy that this is like watching a good horror film, like one you've never seen. Just like a film, there's suspense, slow parts, fast parts, shifts in plot, just as there is shifts in the tempo and loudness these guys play.

(It doesn't affect me, by the way; I scrobble art/serious music the sensible, music-lover's way, by composer. If I listen to a Phantasm at all, it'll be one of the other bands.)

There's no rule about pictures, though there is one about the ordering of bios (most-listened first). BTsGraveland is right: it's's bad design that's led to the problem (on countless pages) -- though having said that, it can be disconcerting to see an unrelated picture pop up next to something you're listening to, and it seems far that the fewest people ought to have that experience... There's no chance of that happening unless get a grip, though; different kinds of music attract different kinds of people (broadly; I'd probably enjoy at least half the groups here), and jonowev shows us the kind of person most attracted to one kind of music. They're the ones who'll win, because they're juvenile and obsessive; they also won't allow a solution like Robo_Dobo's (I've encountered the same thing on the Peter King page); best to give up, and spend the time instead lobbying for a solution.

The new band pic is a lot better than the green one. RoboDobo's idea also makes sense — but two to four equal-sized pics seems simpler. Make them too small and the thumbnails will look weird.

How about there's a pic with each corner having a shrunk down photo of each band, in proportion to the number of listeners.

I think the main pic on an artist page ought to be of the group that is listened to the most. I also prefer that it not be hideous. If that's a crusade, then gimme a knighthood.

This little crusade of FSylvestris' is really quite funny. Like it really matters who's picture is on top. Ultimately, it is the music that counts and we all have different tastes, nothing wrong there. It really is the sites fault for not allowing artists who share a name to have separate pages.

What's with the cheesy green pic? Is that really the favorite?

Lol @ the picture. Anyways, Phantasm (the death metal band) were very... unique, to say the least. I've never heard any other death metal quite like them, quite strange. Too bad they broke up before they could release a full-length.

Yep the Russian Phantasm kills. I love the US band too, "Lycanthropy" is one of my favorite demo's.

I rearranged the bands in chronological order. Seems like the only impartial way to do it. We could also do reverse chron order, but that would put the viol consort back on top.
