"And yeah, Glenn Beck is gross, but the sample is used well and illustrates the way a lot of idiots are thinking these days, which works very well with this songs concept" I can only second that. At first I was confused by him sampling Glenn Beck but then I got it.

The only thing that bothers me about Glenn Beck is that's a neocon and not a traditionalist.

@daleallen: I thought that of the samples in 'I Hedonist'. But I think the samples fit here, for the most part. They establish a tone for the album's concept. The brutal music that immediately follows '...the first baby boomers' contrasts dramatically with the spoken words of the mainstream newscasts. Yet even the mainstream newscasts are observing signs of a possible 'collapse'. To me, the music expresses the destructive impulses and instabilities festering at the base of modern societies, yet unlike in the newscasts, from the perspective of one who desires such a collapse and is willing to pass through its turmoils.

The sample ruins an otherwise really good song.
