Of the Wand & the Moon è un progetto neofolk nato nel 1999 per iniziativa del musicista Kim Larsen, già noto per aver lavorato nell’ambiente metal danese (in particolare doom metal e melodic death metal). La musica è un apocalyptic folk ispirato dai Death in June che prende spesso in considerazione anche dei momenti industrial.
I testi sono tutti scritti da Larsen e si concentrano su temi come la tristezza, la solitudine e la natura. Ad oggi il nome Of the Wand & the Moon appare su quattro album, cinque EP, uno split e una raccolta.

Honestly, I think the new album is much darker when it comes to the lyrics than anything he has done before. Depressing and bleak, really, but the sound is a lot more light-hearted and upbeat than his previous works. I like that he did that. The contrast is really great. If it was just the same gloomy sound as he had before with the lyrics he's written for these songs it may have come off as excessive, gimmicky and insincere.
