I know everybody says that for all their albums, but I really think this is the one album they messed-up the most with b-sides and a-sides choices. Full On should have been sung by Liam and been one of the centrepieces of the album, along with Let's All Make Believe and Carry Us All. One Way Road should have closed the album and Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is should have been a b-side.

Little James isn't what's wrong with this album... in a nutshell: the up-tempos, though decent, are a bit by the numbers and feel like outtakes from a different record (Be Here Now). Meanwhile, the rumbling neo-psych songs, which dominate the album, are rather analogous and slightly lose their potency as a result. I think the album lacks diversity. It's potentially one track away from being excellent. Still a pretty enjoyable listen, though I wouldn't say it's CRIMINALLY underrated.

Standing in the Shoulder of Giants is easily the best Oasis album. Can't you guys just pretend that "Little James" doesn't exist?

It would have been perfect if instead of Little James had put Let's All Make Believe.

Of course not Oasis best album, but it has his moments. Even if it lacks the optimism and the great big rock-tunes of the first albums, it's still great and a good album overall. "Sunday Morning Call" is one of Noel's finest tunes.

@Rezzo64 I agree. One of the reasons why I dislike DM is that it has bad production in some parts. It also annoys me in WTSMG?.

This album had the best production of any of their records before or since. The singles were a bit weak. The reverse was true for the follow-up, Heathen Chemistry. Great singles and terrible production.

Yeah I don't know why Noel slags it off so much, its their best album. Kinda psychedelic. The songs are really atmospheric. Its Brilliant. The only album they really experimented on.

When it first came out I thought it was good, nothing special but I didn't hate it and then not listened to it for years. Recently saw Noel say that Oasis should have never recorded put it on today. Man is he wrong! There is no bad song on there, its certainly aged very well and in fact seems more relevant then it did back then. Most Oasis albums after Morning Glory have maybe 4-5 killer tracks and the rest filler. This album just shines now, the writing is far better and songs like Gas Panic & Where Did It All Go Wrong? don't resemble other acts from the past...which is rare for Oasis once Be Here Now was released. In fact it kinda feels like a collections of B-sides that we all thought should have been album tracks.
