Favorite albums by year from 1990 to 2009
Set 20 2009, 6:28 di maplejet
Yeah, I thought I could look at the last 2 decades (where most of the music I listen to is) and see which albums were the best for each year. Now, it will change in the future as I acquire even more albums and listen to the remaining albums from 2009, but here’s what it is right now. Best album for each year + 2 honorable mentions. For each of the best albums per year, I'll give out my 3 favorite tracks from the albums.
Some years were heavily stacked with a lot of 9/10 and 10/10 albums. Some decisions were tough to make too :(
1990
Depeche Mode – Violator - The album that got me right into Depeche Mode and is one of the best albums of all time, especially the songs Enjoy the Silence, World in My Eyes, and Personal Jesus.
Honorable Mentions:
Megadeth – Rust In Peace
Pantera – Cowboys From Hell
1991
Pearl Jam – Ten - Pearl Jam's best album to date...their most classic, and the 2009 Ten Redux version made it better with some bonus tracks. … -
Review: Sonisphere Festival Day Two
Ago 3 2009, 14:32 di amodelofcontrol
(Cross-posted and edited from my LJ...Please feel free to assist with filling in the gaps on the setlists - in particular I'm stuffed if I can remember what the missing track on the NIN setlist was)
Post-Autonomy, my girlfriend chose to head home to Sheffield (continuing thesis write-up pressures), and so my friend Ceri who'd come to Autonomy with us joined me to head south to Sonisphere. And yes, I know I said that I'd declined these recently-won tickets last week, but much to my surprise they arrived on Saturday, and the decision was taken that we should go anyway, at least for the Sunday (especially as that was the day when most of the bands I wanted to see were on).
Getting there was surprisingly easy - going A6/A14/A1 may not have been the most direct way, but it was probably less hassle than the M1 to Luton and then across - and as the won-tickets were VIP guest ones we had easy, and free, car park access and a much shorter walk to the main arena. … -
"The Wretched"
Mag 26 2009, 4:25 di zx10r07
The Wretched
just a reflection
just a glimpse
just a little reminder
of all the what abouts
and all the might have
could have beens
another day
some other way
but not another reason to continue
and now you're one of us
the wretched
the hopes and prays
the better days
the far aways
forget it
it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to
it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to, did it?
it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to
it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to, did it?
now you know
this is what it feels like
now you know
this is what it feels like
the clouds will part and the sky cracks open
and god himself will reach his fucking arm through
just to push you down
just to hold you down
stuck in this hole with the shit and the piss
and it's hard to believe it could come down to thisback at the beginning
sinking
spinning
and in the end
we still pretend
the time we spend
not knowing when
you're finally free
and you could be

Cała prawda o mnie z okazji 3 lat na lans.fm
Lug 19 2008, 23:35 di rajmund69
Mój NINowy fanatyzm czekał przez te wszystkie lata swojego jestestwa we mnie na taką właśnie ankietę.
1. Wybierz kapelę/wokalistę i odpowiadaj tytułami jego piosenek:
Nine Inch Nails

Big Man With a Gun
I am a big man

6. Ex-facet/dziewczyna:
That's What I Get
why does it come as a surprise
to think that i was so naive
maybe didn't mean too much
but it meant everything to me
7. Obecny facet/dziewczyna/ktoś, w kim się podkochujesz:
Only
Yes, I am alone, but then again I always was
As far back as I can tell
I think maybe it's because
Because you were never really real to begin with
