Well, at first i liked Huuto most from the whole last album but after some time.... I have to admit that Kuolleiden Maa is much better. Pure Magic.

Huuto has that damn catchy riff, that must be it.

I also think the last album is the least good, but I think it's great, too. However, I disagree on Huuto, it's my favorite. :)

"Go, get drunk and realize that everyone around you is a friend " - Exactly. I'm still awaiting the day I get to see them live. And when that day arrives, I will be complete.

Hah, for me it's about other way round. I'd say I like Varjoina kuljemme kuolleiden maassa the _least_ of them all (although it's still a great, great album!). Never understood what's so amazingly perfect in Huuto, for example - I always found Kuolleiden maa to easily be the standout track of the album. Hävitetty, on the other hand, feels genius to me! I'd say my favorite albums overall are maybe Kivenkantaja and definitely both Hävitetty and Voimasta ja kunniasta! Suden uni and Verisäkeet could also be... ah, it's too hard to put them in any particular order! They're all almost perfect albums... Also greatly depends on the mood. If you want some crestfallen material, go with, say, Verisäkeet. Energetic folk metal? First two albums, etc. Awesome variety and they always deliver it perfectly! As for my favorite song? Probably actually Tulimyrsky! :> Now hearing THAT live, considering how ridiculously good they're live, would be just insane! Something after which one could die happy. :D

I agree to an extent. The first 3 albums are a lot more enjoyable for me than Havitetty and Verisakeet, but their latest album is my favourite release of theirs pretty comfortably.

I know it's been over 10 years since they released something in that vein, but no matter how much I listen to Moonsorrow's full catalogue, the style on their first 3 albums is leagues ahead of the newer 3 albums. That's not to say I don't enjoy all of their material, it's just that Suden Uni, Voimasta ja Kunniasta, and Kivenkantaja still manage to blow my mind every time I listen to them.

There is someone who would consider not going to a concert because they have no one to go with? Madness. How often do Moonsorrow tour Australia? I hope you went, otherwise, you will regret it for many years. Moonsorrow are excellent live.

V Of course he does, he's a Finn! :P Sounds like a good plan even if there's no gig buddy. During the evening, and about right amount of alcohol, there should, though. :)

To go to a concert alone is like making love with yourself - you can, but something is definitely missing, no? And that awkward feeling... Than again, this is Moonsorrow so just go there and tear your head off! \m/ Jezberg seems to know what he's talking about.

Just go, do not get too drunk, because you wont remember a goddamned thing the day after if you do so. - metal concert is not like prom, you can go by yourself just fine. That's what I do also.

I never really liked the Finnish language mainly due the low volume of the people speaking it. But Jotunheim surely is a fantastic song. Good band, they're not scared to produce some sound, unlike other Finns. Kudos.

    All day - Moonsorrow

    Maggio 2013
  • umosay

Yeah, it's not just the fact it's 30 minutes, it's the amount of times you have to listen to it to truly appreciate it and understand it, that is the daunting part.

    Maggio 2013
  • Lionheartattack

Yup, what you said about Tulimyrsky. But also people just simply don't have time for a 30 minute song as often as they have time for a 3 minute song (10 times less often, actually), mental hurdle or not. :> By the way, I guess I like VKKM the least... Voimasta ja kunniasta, Verisäkeet and Kivenkantaja are better for me as a whole. That said, I've listened to VKKM less than other Moonsorrow albums. Maybe it could still dawn on me one day. :P Kuolleiden maa is among the very best songs I've ever heard though.

    Aprile 2013
  • umosay

VKKM certainly has a unique atmosphere, it's my highest played MS album too.

    Aprile 2013
  • rHiggo-cbs

While I love the long ones (the three +-30'), and would consider them to be amongst the greatest songs in all of metal, VKKM is probably my favourite album as a whole.

    Aprile 2013
  • umosay

Yes, it's a mental hurdle for some to listen to these 30 minute songs, it was for me... but once you do learn them you get a lot more out of them. Tuleen Ajettu Maa is my favourite MS song. Closely followed by the other 2 long songs.

    Aprile 2013
  • Jezberg

Tulimyrsky is definitely appreciated, but it seems just natural that those 30-minute songs don't get scrobbled as much as the shorter ones. Although their older stuff is much easier to listen as the tracks are shorter and, well, less complicated
