  Since you're into it, a few comparisons : Watchtower: great but only 2 albums and 5-year career span. Mekong Delta: great and 10+ albums and 23-year career span. Control and Resistance is a flawless prog-thrash gem but the MD longevity is also remarkable. Also, Ralph Hubert > Ron Jarzombek in terms of musical genius.

  "Vocals in the new album sound like Pain of Salvation at some points." Definitely, and with their dropping of the schizophrenic tech-thrash sound I think there's some musical influence here as well, especially in Movement 6 which is like some acoustic gospel rock thing. I'm digging the hell out of their new sound though, because as much as I love their other albums they did have the occasional tendency to recycle through the same ideas of Erich Zann.
