LukarioXO It sounds like they tried to copy Oceansize or something with the vocals, but the delivery wasn't as good. If you ignore the vocals, the instrumental parts are all right, but the vocals were definitely unnecessary.

Unfoldingdrama I think the new album is a lot more complex and deep than many here give it credit for. It definitely rewards repeated listenings. I think people are too beholden to their expectations when it comes to changes like they have made for this album.

DyingDaylight hmm, finde leider auch das neue Album schwächer als die drei davor. Auch die Lieder ohne Gesang kommen nicht an die Klasse älterer Lieder heran. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend.

"I like the using of blues tone on the new album" Otherwise they would have to write songs instead of just jamming together, recording it and calling it "live feeling". The use of blues scales on the recent albums is just plain boring and unambitious.

You mean: IF there were 4 wonderful songs without vocals. In fact, there aren't. There are four instrumental tracks with imitade the style from their previous work (have I heard this part before?) but missing the highlights, like this huuuge melodic highlights at the end of each song. It's not only the new front hippster my disappointment is about, but the lack of ideas in songwriting.

The new album grows and grows but I agree with people who say that the vocals are unnecessary. At least as long Martin still sings on this average skill level. I mean, he's not a bad singer at all, but Vincent Cavannagh kicks his ass :D

gnrseb I get your point Gallifrey, but for me personally the vocals just don't fit the songs that good. I love the instrumentals though - my favorite so far: Nucleus!
