    We just go the mastered songs back from the mastering engineers last week and they sound great!

    What exactly constitutes ‘popular music’? At its broadest, it can be negatively defined as the foil of art music. However, in the early nineteenth century, a distinction between ‘folk’ music, and the recently developed urban popular music emerged. Popular music can be defined crudely by its mass media distribution. This technologico-economic definition is obviously insufficient: radio stations such as BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM celebrate ‘classical’ or ‘art’ music as standard programming for a mass audience. One might attempt a sociological definition – popular music is associated, produced by or for, a particular group – or even a normative one – popular music is intrinsically ‘inferior’. Arbitrary criteria are often used to define ‘popular’. All definitions are interest bound. …

    Dia Mundial do Rock:
    Hoje, 13 de julho, comemora-se o Dia Mundial do Rock , uma data que jamais pode ser tida como uma qualquer, já que em todo o mundo os fãs deste maravilhoso estilo musical aproveitarão tal oportunidade para reverenciar seus ídolos.

    A data surgiu e se consolidou, no dia 13 de julho de 1985, dia da realização do primeiro e histórico show “Live Aid”, evento este, idealizado por Sir Bob Geldof, intergrante da banda Boomtown Rats, e com renda revertida em prol das vítimas da fome advinda da seca e da devastação que assolavam e ainda assolam a África nos dias atuais.

    Foi uma verdadeira maratona musical, com shows simultâneos em dois continentes, Londres (Inglaterra – Europa) e Filadélfia (EUA – América do Norte), que reuniu cerca de 170 mil pessoas (efetivas participantes) e outras 1.5 bilhão que assistiram aos shows pela TV. Sendo de 70 milhões de dólares o valor total arrecado com a venda de ingressos e direitos de transmissão a 160 países.
