Listen to Sakurai Atsushi's version of I Like Chopin by Gazebo called 雨音はショパンの調べ -I LIKE CHOPIN-. Also try Kobayashi Asami's version of I Like Chopin 雨音はショパンの調べ.

v "Maturing" doesn't mean you have to stick to your trademark sound ALL THE TIME tho. The main point of "admirable musicianship" is to produce new, border-breaking ideas. Yes, LS is brilliant - but to think of their matter 10 years later, I might say this album is definitely not gonna be missed.

I think that some people are forgetting they are no longer the 20-something year olds anymore as when they first released records. They have matured, as has their sound. It's a very pleasant listen through.

It's nothing new, yes. But why it should be? Why are people comparing it to their early stuff and not Shine/Lunacy? It is a distillation of the LS sound across the years with a few new ideas thrown in, and I think that was their goal with this album. It sounds amazing.

Okay. I've listened to the new album for about 10 times, and here are my thoughts. Overall, it is nothing new, nothing deep like the past greatest albums such as image, mother or style, compared to the current trend in the music industry. But I loved it, loved it at least to see their WILL, their will to keep going:)

After a few listenings the album grew on me. tracks like Maria and Metamorphosis are masterpieces and typically Luna Sea songs. Even Rouge and The End of The Dream sound awesome when listening to the whole album. In fact it doesn't have the magic like Mother or Eden, but it can keep up easily with Shine and Lunacy. All in all A WILL is a very good release and a perfect Christmas present for a Luna Sea fanboy like me. :) I hope they will do a world tour for promotion! I'm curious of how the album will chart in Japan.

i love luna sea and i think the new album is okay. anthem of light is my favourite new song on it, but i wish they repeated the pre-chorus (you know, the one at 1:17) because it's sooo good. favourite overall song is thoughts. this is how i would rank luna sea's discography: 1) image/style/lunacy 2) eden 3) mother 4) shine 5) luna sea 6) a will. anywaaay.

For my part, A WILL is a good album. I can't stop listening to it and "Anthem of Light" is my favorite track. :)

Gonna go along with Newtype: guess I am not an "ultimate die-hard LS fanboy/girl" - a.k.a. target audience of this album, probably.

v and this is where I appear: I personally think that SHINE easily triumphs over A WILL. Why? There is absolutely nothing sticking out, and other than prolly 2-3 tracks - nothing replayable either. Why even bother? SHINE had like 5-6 decent songs which I could listen again and again but

Only listened to the new album twice so far but it isn't anything special. I'd prolly listen to it over SHINE any day tho (which isn't saying much 'cause SHINE is their absolute worst imo). Nevertheless, it's good that they came back. I never thought I'd listen to a full new album by them, so I'm thankful I guess (plus Anthem of Light and Glowing are pretty sweet tunes).
