Towards the conclusion of the decade, the Ambient and Drone areas of more experimental Electronica developed considerably. The thin lines between many genres seem to be eroding fairly rapidly at present!! Sadly, it is without doubt that my view about which 'genre' an artist best fits into will differ from the next persons, but I tried to identify the dominant element (where possible!). Minimal techno, Post-Rock, Metal , Classical & Noise are all encroaching upon territory which was previously left to the arty extremities of Fennesz's, Eno's, Orb's & Shultz's.
This was an excellent year for such an imaginative area of music!
